LegoandNintendohave been working together onSuper Mariosets for four years, andsome Animal Crossing onesfar more recently. Just because other Nintendo IPs are being turned into toy bricks doesn’t mean the Mushroom Kingdom’s time in the Lego spotlight is over, though. Mario Day approaches, and Lego has shared a very short teaser hinting that something is coming, potentially new Mario sets that will likely be released later this year.

You can check out Lego’s Mario teaser below, but good luck figuring out exactly what it is that’s being teased. Ready to host the Lego Mario Day stream almost a week early, the host is interrupted by someone entering the room through a creaking door. More than just someone as the host asks “How did they get in?” before the stream cuts to black so whoever it is that busted in can be officially saved for Mario Day.

Rambi the Rhino Expansion Set

Actually, the reveal will be made on March 9, so a full day before Mario Day. Now speculation on who or what exactly will be added to the Lego Mushroom Kingdom can begin. Based on the little we have to go on, it seems likely new characters will be added to Mario’s Lego world. Potentially villains as they weren’t supposed to be in the room for the stream. If it’s going to be someone who hasn’t been turned into Lego already, perhaps we’ll see Lego Wario and Waluigi this weekend.

It’s also possible the host is referring to Bowser’s Koopalings, although a quick glance at what has come already suggests most if not all of them have been immortalized in Lego already. While you try to figure out who and what might become Mario Lego later this week, you’re able to pick up some pre-existing sets for less to celebrate the build to Mario Day.Peach’s Starter Courseis on sale for $50.99, and the Rambi the Rhino expansion is currently available for less than $10 at the Lego store through the link in the box below.
