Atlus just launched thePersona 3remake, Reload, which brought the Y2K classic up to speed with more contemporary entries in the series. It reviewed incredibly well, garnering an aggregate score of 88 on Metacritic, so the question of whether more of the series would be remade has continued to crop up.

According to reputable leaker @MbKKssTBhz5, Persona 2 and 4 remakes “both exist at Atlus.”

Persona 4 originally launched on the PS2 in 2008, but Golden, an extended version, launched four years later for PS3, later being ported to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Persona 2 is made up of two games, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment, both of which launched on the first PlayStation. Eternal Punishment’s PlayStation release received an English translation right off the bat, but Innocent Sin didn’t get one until the PSP port 12 years later. That means there’s no way to play Persona 2 with complete parity in English, but a remake would finally amend that.

Unlike Persona 3 and 4, which are both available on Xbox Game Pass, the first two games in the series aren’t currently available on modern or last-gen consoles.

Revelations: Persona, which launched in 1996, is only available on PS3, PS Vita, and PSP - you may, however, play it via the PlayStation Classic. Persona 2 is in a similar boat. If you want to play it in English, you’ll need to get your hands on a PSP copy of Innocent Sin and a PlayStation copy of Eternal Punishment. Things might change soon for the second game, but that still leaves the original on older hardware and a standalone anniversary console.

While we aren’t getting a new Persona this year,Atlus is launching Metaphor: ReFantazio in Fall 2024. Persona 6, the next mainline entry, isrumoured to be arrivingin time for the series' 30th anniversary. According to @MbKKssTBhz5, Atlus is aiming to release it in 2025 but 2026 is “much more likely.”

“It is a higher scale game than P5, but in many ways, it will be different too,” @MbKKssTBhz5 said. “P3R is in some ways a test for this game. It will be a much larger step than P5 from P3/P4.”

Where the Persona 2 and 4 remakes fit into this release schedule is unclear. It could be a few years before we see them. Right now, we have very little information to go off of, but there are plenty of Atlus games on the horizon in the meantime.
