At the time of writing, there have only been 22 Casket Matches in WWE history, originating with the very first at Survivor Series 1992, when The Undertaker put away Kamala in less than six minutes.WWE 2K24gives you the opportunity to recreate the iconic stipulation with the superstars of today and yesterday in this game mode.
Mechanics-wise, the Casket Match works very similar to both a Battle Royal and Submission match in 2K and provides players yet another opportunity to either recreate history or make some of their own. Here’s a quick rundown.

Casket Match Basics
A Casket Match is fairly simple. Theonly way to winis toput your opponent into a casketstaged at ringside andclose iton them completely. There are no disqualifications in Casket Matches, meaning you can use any available weapons, steel steps, or announcer tables to help wear your opponent out.
After the wrestlers make their entrances, a casket is rolled down to the side of the ring closest to the entrance ramp. The match begins with the casket closed and the competitors in the ring.

The best way to win a Casket Match is to focus onwearing your opponent down. Once you believe they are significantly depleted, or at any time in the match if the casket is open, competitors can be thrown into the casket byutilizing the throwing mechanicfrom either the ring itself or either end of the open casket on the floor.
You cannot climb onto the casket and jump onto an opponent, but you may climb onto it andslide back into the ringall in one motion. You canthrow your opponent into the casketfor a nasty bump.
How To Win A Casket Match
Once you or your opponent is inside the casket, the casket is closed bywinning or losing a submission mini-game.
If you are putting your opponent in the casket and succeed, you win. If you are in the casket and win the mini-game, you will stop the casket closing and exit, doing some damage to your opponent in the process.
