One of the highlights ofDragon’s Dogma 2is being able to switch up your vocation regularly and experience incredibly different playstyles in combat. Each vocation has its strengths and weaknesses, so it’s a good idea to experiment with them all to find the ones that work for you.
Not every vocation is available from the start - most of them must be unlocked. Two of them can be unlocked as soon as you reach the capital city of Vernworth for the first time: Sorcerer and Warrior. These are powerful, offensive classes that are fun to play to boot - here’s how to get them.

How To Start Vocation Frustration
To start this quest, you’ll need to head to thevocation guild in Vernworth. It’s easy to find - it’s in the market district right underneath the inn.
Attempt to change your vocation to either Warrior or Sorcerer, and the guildmaster here will tell you that, thanks to a held-up shipment of equipment, you cannot become those vocations at the moment. He will then direct you to the blacksmith, who can be found nearby in a row of shops near the fountain.

Speaking to theblacksmithwill reveal that the shipment was held up by goblins aroundTrevo Mine, and asks that you investigate for him.
Heading to Trevo Mine to acquire these weapons isonly one very simple way to complete this questand the way the game recommends you do it.

In fact, if you manage topick up any Warrior or Sorcerer weapons elsewhere(such as at the Checkpoint Rest Town) and hand them in, the quest will still be complete, and you’ll unlock the vocations that way.
TheMonster Cullingquest, one of the main quests given to you by Captain Brant, also takes place in Trevo Mine. For that reason, it’s a good idea towait until you have both of them in your quest journal before proceeding- you can kill two birds with one stone!

How To Get To Trevo Mine
The route to Trevo Mine is quite a simple one.
The entrance to Trevo Mine is on the side of the mountain.
How To Find The Greatsword And Archistaff
Inside Trevo Mine there aretwo chestsyou’ll need to open to find the weapons you’re after.
While you’re in the mine, be wary of the goblins who live here. While they are not the most threatening of enemies, they can use pack tactics against you and be quite overwhelming. Bringing along aMage or Sorcerer with fire spellswill help greatly against these beasts.
TheTwo-Hander(a Greatsword) is in thefirst room you encounter when taking the right-handpath from the entrance to the mine.
There’s also a door in this room - it is locked until you take on theMonster Cullingquest. If you do this quest at the same time as that one, it’ll be open.
TheGrievous Horns(an Archistaff) is found in an alcove that is accessible from theroom to the north of the previous roomwhere you found the Greatsword.
In this room, drop down to the lowest floor and look for a narrow path in the northeastern wall. A short path will lead to this chest.
How To Unlock Sorcerer And Warrior
Once you have the two weapons from Trevo Mine (or, indeed, any other Greatsword/Hammer and Archistaff), all that’s left to do isreturn to the vocation guild in Vernworth.
If you’re also in the process of completing Monster Culling, don’t leave immediately - remember toscour the mines for more goblins and especially remember to check behind the door in the first room we discussed earlier.
Talk to the guildmaster and hand in one weapon per vocation- this will unlock those vocations for both your Arisen and your main pawn.
Don’t worry about losing these weapons: when you unlock a new vocation, you get a full set of equipment for them. The Two-Hander and Grievous Horns are the default weapons given to you when you unlock their respective vocations.
