Completing quests is by far the best way to acquire new items, powerful equipment, and even new vocations inDragon’s Dogma 2. Helping out your fellow man (whether human or beastren) reveals more of the world, rewards you with fantastic things, and is one of the main draws to exploration.
The world is very big, and reaching the southern end of it will reveal a whole new island to explore - Agamen. As soon as you step-foot here - through Drabnir’s Grotto at the south of Battahl, you’ll come across a dwarf who needs some help.

How To Start Put A Spring In Thy Step
To begin Put a Spring in Thy Step, you will first need to meet Gautstafr, a dwarf who stands in the middle of the road at the beginning of Agamen Volcanic Island. Talking to Gautstafr reveals that he needs some wildflowers - deliver to him these items.Any three herb items will count, such asGreenwarishand Morningtide.
After delivering these herbs to the dwarf, let him lead you to his house, which is to the north and around some rocky shoals. There are somesaurian enemiesto fight here that are rather camouflaged against the rocks, so be on your guard.
Throwing these enemies into the waterafter stunning them is an easy way to deal with them.
Once you reach Gautstafr’s house, enter to meet his wife and witness a short scene which begins the next stage of the quest: escorting Gautstafr to the hot springs at the Volcanic Island Camp.
How To Escort Gautstafr To The Hot Springs
Gautstafr has a bad back and, therefore, is quite a slow person to escort, and there are likely to be many compulsory combat encounters to accost you as you make your way over the (thankfully short) distance between his home and the hot springs. We recommend using either of the following methods to get this done safely and efficiently:
Be wary on the beach between the two points - this is the spawn point for both agriffin and a minotaur.
If Gautstafr gets lost or takes too much damage, he may just return home. You’ll need to meet up with him again to resume the escort portion of the quest. If Gautstafr dies, you’ll need to revive him with a Wakestone either immediately or after he’s transported to the morgue in Battahl.
Once you reach the Volcanic Island Camp with Gautstafr in tow, climb the ladders and head to the hot springs. Once you’re both there, a cutscene will begin in which the quest completes.
As part of this sequence, Cliodhna (Gautstafr’s wife) will give you theMagick Archer vocation, which can be unlocked at any vocation guild in the world. In addition to that, you’ll get theSpellbow’s Paradox tomeimmediately, representing the Magick Archer-Maister’s approval.
