Balatrois a poker-esque roguelike deck builder where you collect Jokers, Tarot cards, and other special items to create combos and score massive points. Every run is different, and you’re able to customize your deck at the shop between Blinds to further improve your chances of winning.
The shop also features items called Vouchers, which give powerful, persistent upgrades to your run. Half are unlocked by default, but the other half require you to complete specific, sometimes obtuse, objectives during your runs. Below, we’ll take a look at every Voucher’s effect, and how to unlock it.
How To Unlock Every Voucher
There are32 Vouchers in Balatro, categorized into16 pairs of two. Every Voucher essentially has anormal and upgraded versionto form one pair. For example,Overstockis paired withOverstock Plus, which both have similar, but stacking, effects.
The normal versions of each Voucher are allunlocked by default, but their upgraded versions require you to complete certain objectives during runs.
Additionally, tofind the upgraded version of a Voucher during a run, you mustfirst obtain its normal version. For example, to see Glow Up during a run, you’ll first need to get Hone. Of course, you need to unlock Glow Up before it will appear as well.

Planet cards in your Consumables area give x1.5 Mult for their specified hand.

Raise the cap on interest earned per round to $20.
Max out the interest per round earnings for ten consecutive rounds.
Illusion
Cards bought from the shop can have an enhancement, edition, and/or seal.
Reduce your hand size down to 5 cards.
How To Get Vouchers
Every Ante, one Voucher will appear in the shop, which can be purchased for $10. Whether you buy or don’t buy the Voucher, once youdefeat the Boss Blind of that Ante, it will bereplaced with another. This means, in a typical winning run, you’ll have the chance to geteight Vouchers.

Additionally, you can also prematurelyrefresh the shop using the Voucher Tag, earned by skipping a Blind that has it. This willadd a Voucher to the next shop, giving you the potential to collect more than eight Vouchers in a typical winning run.
