Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’sthird season is here, bringing with it a ton of new gear to unlock and maps to play. This season has arguably the largest content offering we’ve ever seen from a CoD update, releasing four new weapons, five perks, new equipment, six new maps, and the return of Fortune’s Keep.

If you’re looking to expand your arsenal or get out of your comfort zone, this is the perfect season to do so. Season 3 is making massive changes to the meta with the return of some Advanced Warfare weapons, new conversion kits for MW2 weapons, and new perks that enable hyper-aggressive playstyles. This guide will go over every new item introduced in this season, ranging from new weapons to aftermarket parts.

Modern Warfare 3 BAL-27 Weapon Inspect

Season 3 Weapons

The third season of MW3 hasfour new weaponsfor players to chase, two of which are returning weapons from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. All of these weapons may be earned through theSeason 3 Battle Pass, although the BAL-27 won’t be available until the mid-season patch is out.

Weapon Inspiration

B&T MP9

The MP9 returns in Modern Warfare 3 as the FJX Horus,a 9mm SMG featuring best-in-class mobility and fire rate. It’s closer to a machine pistol than a more traditional submachine gun, but it technically counts as an SMG primary in this installment. you’re able to unlock the FJX Horus from Sector C8 of the Season 3 Battle Pass.

The weapon has an incredibly short TTK within its effective range, although its low effective range akes it difficult to use at a distance.

MORS (Advanced Warfare)

Returning from Advanced Warfare, the MORS is asingle-shot railgun classified as a sniper rifle. It can be unlocked in Sector C4 of the Season 3 Battle Pass. The MORS features best-in-class bullet velocity, damage, and excellent handling statsthat compete with the Longbow.

The weapon’s main weakness is its lack of a magazine. You must reload after every shot.To mitigate this downside, we highly recommend using a Mag Holster with this weapon. Besides that, the MROS is the ideal sniper rifle for aggressive players.

Punch Knives

The Gladiator is a punch knife that you can unlock in Sector C15 of the Season 3 Battle Pass.It has stats similar to the Karambit knife, featuring best-in-class mobility and fast melee animations. However, the weapon has virtually no lunge range. You’ll need to get fairly close to your target for the Gladiator to deal any damage, more so than most melee weapons.

BAL-27 (Advanced Warfare)

The poster child of Advanced Warfare has made its way to Modern Warfare 3, albeit with some small tweaks. The BAL-27 is a bullpup assault rifle with high initial accuracy, as the first four shots have a slower RPM. If the target’s still alive, the weapon will then ramp up its fire rate to land the final kill, albeit with far less accuracy.

While the weapon isn’t available yet, it’s likely to behave closest to the Obsidian Steel variant from Advanced Warfare. This variant featured a 600 RPM fire rate for the first four bullets that ramped up to 705 RPM afterward. Expect the BAL-27 to excel in close quarters but struggle to compete at longer distances, similar to last season’s BP50.

New Perks And Equipment

MW3’s third season addsfive new perksandnew equipmentfor players to earn. Most of the new perks are vests that players have been asking for since MW3 was released, notably a Quick-Fix vest and an Underkill vest. Some vest intrinsics have also been turned into vest-agnostic perks that you can use with any class.

Gunslinger Vest

Properties

Can only use secondary weapons. Spawn with max ammo. Kills restore stamina.

Grants Quick-Grip Gloves, Commando Gloves, and Mag Holster for free.

Armory Challenges (8 Daily Challenges)

Fans of the Underkill wildcard from previous CoD titles will love the Gunslinger Vest. Equipping this item willrestrict you to secondary weapons only, including handguns, launchers, and melee weapons. Conversion Kits that modify a secondary weapon to behave more like a primary—such as the conversion kits for the Renetti and Tyr—can still be used with this vest.

If you may get around that downside, the Gunslinger Vest is stacked with good perks. You gain the effect of Quick-Grip Gloves, Commando Gloves, and Mag Holster for free, and you get a second gear slot. If that wasn’t enough, kills fully restore your stamina barto make run-and-gun playstyles much more viable. You even spawn with max ammo, a benefit that is currently only provided by two other vests.

Modern Warfare 3 EVG Field Upgrade In Use

Needless to say, this vest is stacked with great modifiers. If you love secondary weapons or don’t mind using conversion kits, the Gunslinger Vest is nothing short of S-tier.

Resupply Lethals and Tacticals from dead players.

Armory Challenges (5 Daily Challenges)

The Modular Assault Rig is ideal for aggressive playstyles that wish to trade the Infantry Vest’s intrinsic for additional ammo. With this vest, you willspawn with max ammo, double the equipment charges, and resupply equipment from dead players.Bear in mind that you donotget the benefits of Scavenger Gloves by default; you must equip that perk to fully restock on ammo.

There aren’t any opportunity costs with this vest either. No equipment, perk slots, or weapons slots are restricted while using this vest, giving you tons of flexibility with your loadout. If you frequently find yourself low on ammo, the Modular Assault Rig is always a good option.

Modern Warfare 3 Wardens Conversion Kit

Immediately regenerate HP after a kill or objective capture.

Virtually every MW3 player has been waiting for Quick-Fix to return in some form, and with the launch of Season 3, it’s finally here. The Compression Carrier immediately triggers HP regeneration after you kill someone or capture an objective. This effect doesn’t have a cooldown, although taking damage while healing will delay your HP regeneration as usual.

Such a strong perk comes at the cost of your Tactical and Field Upgrade. Most players use these slots for Stims and the Med Box, respectively, so not much is lost. You still have one perk slot in each category, so it’s possible to run Ghost and Quick-Fix simultaneously—a perk combination that was impossible in MW2.

The Reinforced Boots give you themovement reduction immunity effect from the Ninja Vest.It takes up a boot slot instead of your vest, although this is a tough ask when Covert Sneakers and Lightweight Boots take up the same slot.

Functionally, these boots make you immune to the movement penalties applied by Stun Grenades and hollowpoint ammunition.Stun Grenades still lower your turn speed, however, so this perk doesn’t counter everything.

High-Gain Antenna

Zooms out the minimap for you and nearby allies. Allies using Intel Jacker and Signal Jammer now share that information with you.

If a nearby ally is using the CCT Comms Vest, you’re able to see enemies on the minimap for longer.

In essence, the High-Gain Antenna gives you the intrinsic trait of the CCT Comms Vest. This perk is broken up into three effects:

This perk is meant to encourage teamplay and reward you with additional information. You get a larger map, can see enemies pinged by ally perks, and can benefit from longer-lasting pings if an ally is using the CCT Comms Vest. It’s a rather niche pick, but players who matchmake with premade squads might find this useful.

This item is currently unobtainable. It will be unlocked once Season 3: Reloaded launches halfway through the season.

The EMD Mine is effectively the EMD Grenade but converted into a proximity mine. The tracker functions identically to the EMD Grenade, and it resides in the same Tactical slot in your loadout. Targets that are stuck with a tracker must pull out the tracker to avoid further detection, making this a useful gadget in one-life modes like Search and Destroy.

Enhanced Vision Goggles

Highlights enemies with a faint red outline. Lasts for a short duration.

The EVG Field Upgrade willhighlight enemy players with a faint red outline, lasting for a moderate duration. It’s unclear if this highlights targets through solid surfaces. We’ll update this section once the EVGs become available for use in Multiplayer.

Aftermarket Parts

As with all previous seasons, MW3’s third season introduceseight new Aftermarket Partsto unlock through the Weekly Challenge system. Unlike past seasons, some of this season’s conversion kits may be used on MW2 weapons. For example, you may convert the M16 into a full-auto assault rifle, convert the KV Broadside into a battle rifle, or turn the Lockwood MK2 into the infamous akimbo Model 1887s from 2009’s MW2.

Improves speed and stability while ADS.

Compatible Platforms

MCW, MTZ, M4, AMR9, all SMGs

Most assault rifles and SMGs can equip theJAK Cutthroat stock, greatly improving your strafe speed and weapon stability while ADS.It’s unclear what downsides this attachment has, but this stock seems to be a great option for snappy CQC builds on all SMGs and certain assault rifle builds. The JAK Cutthroat stock is compatible with all MW3 SMGs, the MCW platform, MTZ platform, M4 platform, and AMR9 SMG.

Conversion Kit

Effect

The BP50 is now chambered in 9mm. Comes with a pre-installed drum magazine.

BP50

The JAK Revenger Kitconverts the BP50 to accept 9mm ammunition, improving the weapon’s handling and RPM at the cost of effective range. This conversion kit also installs a drum magazine onto the weapon, making it a powerhouse in close-range combat. Only the BP50 can use the JAK Revenger Kit. No other weapon is compatible with this attachment.

KV Broadside

Installing the JAK Jawbreaker onto the KV Broadside turns it into a full-auto battle rifle, featuring excellent damage and RPM at the cost of handling and mobility stats. It can only be installed on the KV Broadside, a shotgun brought forward from Modern Warfare 2 (2022).

Gives the Bruen MK9 an integrated suppressor. The weapon now uses .300 Blackout ammunition.

Bruen MK9

The JAK Shadow Titan Kitconverts the Bruen MK9 into a stealth weapon, replacing the barrel with an integrated suppressor while modifying the receiver to accept .300 Blackout. When you kill someone, enemy skulls will no longer appear, and you will no longer appear on the radar while firing. However, this comes at the cost of bullet velocity and range, so you’ll need to stick to close-range engagements while using this conversion kit.

The M16 is now fully automatic. Installs a heavy barrel that improves firing aim stability and recoil control.

M16

The JAK Patriot kit is one of MW3’s first aftermarket parts for a previous MW2 weapon. This attachment converts the M16 into a full-auto assault rifle, greatly improving the weapon’s TTK. Additionally, this conversion kit also installs a heavy barrel onto the weapon that buffs the M16’s firing aim stability and recoil stats, making it easier to control.

Lockwood MK2

Old-school CoD players will immediately recognize this as the Model 1887s from the original Modern Warfare 2.The Wardens kit turns the Lockwood MK2 into a pair of lever-action shotguns, sacrificing its effective range for much more stopping power up close. It’s unlikely that they’ll be as overpowered as they were back in 2009, but keep an eye out for this conversion kit once it launches.

AMR9

Similar to the JAK Headhunter Kit for the Rival-9,the JAK Atlas Kit converts the AMR9 into a burst rifle. The gun is now chambered in 5.56 ammo and shoots five-round bursts, capable of one-bursting an opponent if you land all of your shots. This comes at the cost of overall handling, but the lethality bump from this conversion kit could make the AMR9 a far stronger weapon for core Multiplayer and Warzone.

Aftermarket Part (Barrel)

Converts the MORS into an energy rifle. Each shot must be charged, greatly improving the weapon’s damage and bullet velocity.

MORS

MW3’s aftermarket parts are starting to delve into sci-fi with this conversion kit. ThePhotonic Charge Barrel turns the MORS into an energy rifle. You must charge each shot before the weapon can fire, but doing so substantially increases the weapon’s damage and bullet velocity. It makes the MORS even more unforgiving if you miss shots, but those who can land their shots will land consistent one-hit kills.
