To that end, developer Arrowhead Game Studios has reinforced the hit multiplayer title with the devastating LAS-99 Quasar Cannon.

This monumental weapon is one of the most powerful to be added to the game since it was released, and it’s offered to all as a free update to Helldivers 2. You’ll still have to unlock the Quasar Cannon when you meet the specifications, but its power and ability to decimate the strongest of foes make it worth the wait.

How To Get The LAS-99 Quasar Cannon

TheLAS-99 Quasar Cannonis an equipment Stratagemthat must bepurchased from your ship’s menubefore you can use it. You’ll need tobe at level 18 before it unlocksfrom the Engineering Bay andpay 7,500 Requisition Slipsto permanently unlock it.

Once you’ve purchased the Quasar Cannon, you canselect it from the loadout menubefore you drop onto the planet for the mission.

How To Use The LAS-99 Quasar Cannon

The LAS-99 Quasar Cannon is anenergy weapon, which means thatit has unlimited usesbut willneed time to cool downafter each use. All you need to do to use it is tohold the ‘Aim’ button and then hold the ‘Fire’ buttonto cause the weapon to charge up. Continueaiming the weapon steadilyat your opponent until it fires.

You candestroy Hulks,Spore Spewers,Chargers, and more with asingle Quasar Cannon shotas long as you hit them head-on.

The Quasar Cannon has unlimited uses, butit needs to cool down in between each shotbefore it will let you fire it again. If you still have the weapon aiming after firing, you’ll notice that the reticle remains reduntil the symbol next to the gun onyour lower left HUD is emptied.

Build And Strategy Suggestions

Unlike the Railgun,you won’t need to reload the Quasar Cannon, which makes it one of themore impressive weaponsto be supplied by Super Earth so far. However,it can be deadly to you at short range, so be careful not to get swarmed. It’s best whenused from medium-to-long range.

As far as builds for the Quasar Cannon, you’ll want something that canreduce the explosion damage you takeand something tokeep opponents away.

Stratagem

Jump Pack

Get to places that are harder for enemies to reach and use the Quantum Cannon to decimate.

Mines or a Turret

Using the Quasar Cannon at close range will kill you, so these can keep enemies from getting too close.

Armor

‘Fortified’ Passive Buff

This can be found as a modifier to certain armor sets like the FS-34 Exterminator. Gives reduced recoil and 50 percent resistance to explosions.

‘Extra Padding’ Passive Buff

Gives a higher armor rating, in case you have no ‘Fortified’ armor.

Booster

Vitality Enhancement

Gives additional resistance to damage, which will stack with your armor.
