In your adventures inDragon’s Dogma 2, you’re likely to make a guard mad when you’re somewhere you shouldn’t be, or you may be forced to attack someone within the guard’s vicinity. Whatever the reason, having the NPC guards hostile toward you’re able to make it hard to complete missions.
Thankfully, it seems that communication in this world isn’t as plentiful and it seems like the guards tend to forgive many crimes from day to day. Keeping this in mind, it isn’t hard to keep the guards from holding a grudge as long as you can get away without antagonizing them further.

How To Stop Guards From Being Hostile
Whether you happen upon anoxcart on the roador you’re walking througha citylike Vernworth, you’ll likelycome across different guards in uniformed regalia. If you have your weapon drawn or they’re unsure about you on the road, they may draw their weapons.
Drawing your weapon near a guard in a town will make guards watch you, but theywon’t attack unless further provoked.

The guards won’t instantly attack, but this ready statecould give way to an attackif you don’tsheathe your weapons or leavethe area. If thecombat has already started, andyou don’t want to murder some guards, you’ll need to leave the areaand stay away until the guards have forgiven you.
If a guard is hostile, run outside of the townuntil they stop chasingyou andrest at a campfireto reset them.

Sometimes you’ll need to go where the guards don’t want you, andyou’ll be attacked immediately once they notice. One way to walk among the guards without them becoming suspicious is todisguise yourself as one of them.
How To Disguise Yourself As A Guard
Certain missions require you tosneak around guardsin places you’re not supposed to be. Instead, you canpurchase a guard outfit or regal clothesat a specialty seller in Vernworth’s market squarecalled ‘Philbert’s Sundries.’
TheMarcher’s Armorset is more reliablethan cloaking as a Thief.
Philbert’s Sundries can befound on the northwest side of the market squareof Vernworth. In addition toselling Ferristones and potions, you may alsobuy the full set of armor to disguise yourselfas a guard.
You canbuy the whole set of armor for 4,750 Gold, which is much more affordable than theCourtly Tunicand breeches at 305,000 Gold. Once purchased, you canequip it to your Arisenand then venture into the castle with more assurance thatthe guards won’t questionwhy you’re there.
