One of your first, bigger objectives inAlone In The Darkis to find the Astronomical Clock and complete the associated puzzle. The game asks you to find the clock, but once you do, there is more to uncover. The clock has a puzzle that requires repairing.

The broken puzzle inside the Astronomical Clock requires two Broken Plate pieces. These pieces are hidden around the house and will not be easy to acquire. This guide will detail how to complete all the associated puzzles so that the clock puzzles can function, and the story can continue.

Where Is The Astronomical Clock?

The Astronomical Clock islocated up the stairsthat aredirectly in front of the main entrance of the house.

On the map, this is called theGallery.

If you are more familiar with the garden and greenhouse, here aredirections starting from theKitchen Garden.

From the garden:

Once you interact with the clock, you will find a puzzle missing two pieces.Youmust find two Broken Plates.

Where Is The First Broken Decorative Plate?

The first Broken Plateis located in the Kitchen Garden. Behind the statue of a woman, there is ahole with a bucket inside(essentially a well) and theBroken Plate is inside.

Next, there is ayellow hoserunning along the floorof the garden. You must complete the hose byopening thenearbyshedwithBoltCuttersand collecting theWaterHose. Go back to the hole the Broken Plate is in to attach the hose together.

Follow the hosetoward the back of the garden toturn it on. This shouldraise the water levelsin the well so that you can easily reach the Broken Plate.

Where Is The Second Broken Decorative Plate?

The second Broken Plate isbehind a puzzle located inside the sixth bedroomupstairs.Room Key #6can be accessed by heading back to where you last spoke to your partner in crime (Edward/Emily).

That room is called theReceptionon the map, which can be accessed from the Gallery. You will then want toenter theClerk’s Office. On thedesk in this room, you will find Room Key #6.

The Clue “I Must Return"can be found on the bed.

The Clue “Perosi’s Journal"is on the couch behind the bed.

You will need to use Periosi’s Journaland theimages on the wallsof the room to solve the padlock puzzle at the vanity.

How To Solve The Zodiac Sign Padlock In Elizabeth Perosi’s Room

The first thing you have to do issolve the puzzle of the six paintingsnear the dresser. You are able to flip them around at will. Therotting scratches should be dark to completethe puzzle, not white or less defined.

The correct order will show onlythree paintings with nameson them.William, Franklyn, and Norah.

Remember these names and head to thepicture behind the bed. The names in the picture are numbered.

With these numbers in mind,open Perosi’s Journal. There is an image of Zodiac signs. Only certain signs are numbered. This serves to show you the order of the signs.

If William is two, that means that his corresponding sign for this puzzle isPiscesbecause Aquarius is labeled as number one.

To open the padlock, you have to select thePiscessign, theLibrasign, and then theTaurussign.

Inside, you will receive the lastBroken Platepiece.

How To Solve The Astronomical Clock Puzzle

Head back to the Astronomical Clockand repair the puzzle. When you leave room six, the hallway will appear different.

No enemies will spawn, but you may takedamage from the falling goo, so just be careful.

To complete the clock puzzle,pay attention towhich plates have linesand part of a circle on them. This will help you line up which plates need to be connected. Also be aware of the red, blood-like splatter on some of the plates. Onlytwo plateshave blood on them, soyou know they should stay together.

Once you have completed the puzzle, the clock will stop. Look up at the clock toanalyze each clock hand.

Each clock face, from big to small, has stopped atsix,four, andthree.

Interact with the puzzle again toplace the talismandown and enter those numbers accordingly. The talisman will show you an image. Leave the clock, head back into the hallway containing the bedrooms, and walk down the hall to continue the story.
