Hellscream’s Reach, introduced inWorld of Warcraft’sCataclysm expansion, is a group of hand-picked warriors selected by Garrosh Hellscream and sent to seize the prison island of Tol Barad from the Alliance’s hands. Located just off the coast of Gilneas, players can fight the opposite faction in this dilapidated and swampy landscape, as well as the subsequent pirates, undead, and demons that have since taken root.

Players can fight the opposite faction in this dilapidated and swampy landscape, as well as the subsequent pirates, undead, and demons that have since taken root. As with other factions, getting exalted with Hellscream’s Reach offers numerous rewards, including two awesome mounts.

Tips To Get Started

This can be done by heading into your character profile and going to the reputation tab. Once there, find Hellscream’s Reach in the Cataclysm section and click ‘Move To Experience Bar.’

This will add a bar at the bottom of your screen that will update as you go. You will most likely not be able to track it until you are at least neutral with the faction, however.

Getting exalted with Hellscream’s Reach can offer multiple worthwhile rewards. Although the gear is now outdated, getting their appearances might still be on your agenda. Below is a comprehensive table of the still usable rewards you can get, at what reputation, and for how much.

All the rewards are bought with Tol Barad Commendations (TBC), which you will get as rewards for questing.

Acquiring the Hellscream’s Reach Tabard and Reins of the Spectral Wolf will give you the Alliance equivalent: the Baradin’s Warden’s Tabard and the Reins of the Spectral Steed. So, you only have to grind for one reputation.

Tol Barad issplit into two areas: Tol Barad Peninsula and Tol Barad. Tol Barad Peninsula houses the Hellscream’s Reach hub area, and, as such, is where you will get get the first half of daily quests.

If using the portal, you should teleport right to it;if not, it is to theleft of the bridge on the map, just south of The Darkwood. This area is filled with low-level NPCs that will make questing easy.

Tol Barad itself, however, is a World PvP area, meaning thatyou can be attacked by the opposing faction.

Turf ‘battles’ happen here every one to two hours and last 15 minutes. These aren’t just for fun either:if your faction is controlling Tol Barad, more quests will be available.

While in Tol Barad Peninsula and Tol Barad,a timer on the screen will count down the time until the next battle. If you want to participate, wait on the bridge until the battle actually starts. If you are too close to the fighting area when the battle begins, you will be teleported out.

The goal is tocapture the enemy side by taking over the three keeps in the area. Head to each of the keeps on the map, those being:

Once there, you will notice a blue-to-red bar above your quest log. As you stay there, the bar will slowly tick upwards towards the Horde’s side.Simplyremain in the area until it touches the red,in which case you will have captured the keep. Do the same to the other two and you will have won the battle.

Depending on the population of your server, winning Tol Barad might be more difficult due to enemy players.

For this reason,a low-population server is recommended; if not, be prepared for some PvP.

Hellscream’s Reach Quests And Additional Rep

You will get one to two more daily quests if you have Warmode turned on. This can be done in any capitol city.

Regardless of your faction’s control of Tol Barad, there will usually be four dailies acquired at the Hellscream’s Reach camp, with the chance of an optional fifth called ‘Shark Tank.’ These quests are simple and low-leveled, the base four giving 250 rep and one TBC each, and ‘Shark Tank’ giving 350 and two TBC.

Additionally,a weekly quest will be given by Colonel Karzag named ‘Victory in Tol Barad,’ simply requiring you to win one battle. Winning gives you 250 rep, and turning it in gives you three TBC. Once your faction is in control, six new quests will be available in Baradin Hold, the keep in the middle of Tol Barad. Completing these gives 350 rep and one TBC each.

Finally, the raid named Baradin Hold can be completed on any difficulty once a week for additional rep. It is best to clear the entire raid, as all trash and bosses give 70 each. The entrance can be a bit hard to find: simply head around the left side of Baradin Hold itself to see the raid Meeting Stone and head into the open cellar.
