Lyneyis a five-star bow user inGenshin Impactwho wields a Pyro vision, and is one of the first playable characters released after Fontaine’s debut, along with his twin sister Lynette. As the first DPS character from Fontaine, he can freely manipulate his own HP to deal more DMG, as with most characters from this nation.
Lyney is full of all sorts of tricks up his sleeve to deliver a spectacular performance both on stage and in battle. Master his magical collection of unique Charged Attacks, fireworks, cats and hats to light up the battlefield.

7Use Him When You’re Farming Resources In Fontaine
Lyney’s Exploration Talent, Trivial Observations, will display any nearby resources unique to Fontaine on the mini-map. These materials include:
North of the Court of Fontaine

Beaches and underwater in Liffey Region
Wilds of Beryl Region and surrounding the Fountain of Lucine

Subdetection Unit
Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region
This Talent makes him extremely useful when it comes to exploration and gathering resources, not just for him, but forany of your Fontaine characters. This also ensures that you know exactly where to go and that you won’t miss a single material, especially those found underwater.
6Hold His Charged Attack Longer
Like other five-star main-DPS bow users, such as Ganyu, Yoimiya and Tighnari,Lyney’s Charged Attack, Card Force Translocation, has two Charge Levels.Different effects will occur based on the time spent charging:
While the Grin-Malkin Hat is on the field, it willtaunt nearby enemies and their attacks, allowing you to safely perform Charged Attacks while your enemies are distracted. If the Grin-Malkin Hat gets destroyed or its duration expires, or when Lyney summons another Level Two Charged Attack, it willfire off a Pyrotechnic Strike at one nearby opponent, dealing huge Pyro DMG.

5Manage His HP Fluctuation
As with most Fontaine characters,Lyney’s kit involves losing and gaining HP.After firing a Level Two Charged Attack while he has more than 60 percent HP, he willconsume a portion of his HP and obtain one stack of Prop Surplus, up to five stacks. Lyney’s Level two Charged Attack will stop consuming his HP once it drops below 60 percent.
After unlocking his first Ascension Passive, Perilous Performance, if Lyney consumes HP when firing off a Level Two Charged Attack, the Grin-Malkin hat summoned by the arrow will, upon hitting an opponent, restore three Energy to Lyney and increase DMG dealt by 80 percent of his ATK.Take note of his HP, not just for survivability, but also to maintain the DMG increase from his Passive.

Because Lyney wants to be above 60 percent HP all the time but also consumes his own HP,it’s better to use healers with himrather than shielders, in order to offset his HP drain.
Additionally, his HP manipulation allows him to make full use of the Marechaussee Hunter artifact set.

4Wait Until You Have Five Stacks Before Using His Elemental Skill
After using his Elemental Skill, Bewildering Lights,Lyney will consume all current stacks of Prop Surplus and deal AoE Pyro DMGto all opponents in front of him. This attack will have the following effects:
This Skillallows Lyney to heal himself up in a pinch, while also dealing massive amounts of Pyro DMG depending on the number of stacks he possesses before casting it.Wait until you have the maximum amount of stacks (five) before using his Elemental Skillin order to maximize its DMG output.

3Use His Ultimate To Gain A Free Stack
Using Lyney’s Elemental Burst, Wondrous Trick: Miracle Parade, will make himtransform into a Grin-Malkin Catthat can move around freely for a few seconds and deal Pyro DMG once to enemies it comes into contact with. The following effects will occur once its duration ends:
Aside from being a good source of AoE Pyro DMG,Lyney’s Elemental Burst is also useful for gathering Prop Surplus stacksfor his Elemental Skill. Combo this with his Level Two Charged Attacks to gain stacks much quicker.
2Use Him In A Pure Pyro Team
Ascending Lyney four times will allow you to unlock his fourth Ascension Passive. With this Passive unlocked, Lyney’s DMG will become buffed in the following ways:
Lyney requirestwo additional teammates from the Pyro elementin order to maximize this DMG Bonus.Bennettis a solid choice as an easy to obtain Pyro Healer.
With this passive,Lyney’s teammate options become extremely limited as he wants to bepaired with the same element, but the increase to his DMG is a good trade-off. Additionally, you don’t want to trigger any Elemental Reactions which could potentially remove the Pyro aura on enemies, as attacking enemies affected by Pyro will also increase his DMG significantly.
1He Can Unleash Pneuma Energy
When traveling in Fontaine, you’ll come across itsunique combat and exploration mechanic known as Arkhe, which is composed of two contrasting energies, Pneuma and Ousia. Fontaine characters and the Hydro Traveler can release one type of this energy based on their innate Arkhe alignment.
An easy way to differentiate Pneuma and Ousia is to observe their colors. Pneuma glows a shade of yellow while Ousia glows a shade of purple.
For Lyney, he’s able todeal Pneuma-aligned DMG every six secondsthrough his Level Two Charged Attack, represented by a golden strike that descends upon enemies. This mechanic can be used to disable specific enemies, such as Clockwork Mecha, Breacher Primuses, and the second phase of the All-Devouring Narwhal, as well as activate puzzles in Fontaine.
