Every so often, Epic Games will host a new Competitive tournament inFortnitebrought on by the introduction of a new character, theme, or skin. With the return of Midas on the island, he’s also hosting the ‘Rise of Midas’ Cup to test how your abilities have grown since he left.
The Cup follows similar rules to most of the previous events, and you’ll be awarded points for the eliminations you’re able to rack up. Those who can earn the most points in their region will even be able to earn the ‘Ascendant Midas’ skin and ‘Golden King’s Cape Back Bling’ for free.
How To Participate In The Rise Of Midas Cup
When the ‘Rise of Midas’ Cup begins on March 24, you can queue up for the event, likely through its own Discovery row tile. Epic Games has given some insight ahead of the release, stating thatyou will only have ten matcheswithin the three-hour event window.
To participate, make sureyou have Two-Factor Authentication activatedon your Epic Games account, andyou must be at Account Level 15 or above, which is viewable in the Career section in Battle Royale.You must alsobe on a non-Cabined account, which just means you’re over 13.
You will belocked to the region you select for this eventand any future competitive eventsfor the rest of Chapter Five, Season Two.
The overall winners in each region will bedetermined by the number of pointsthey can accumulate. Placement and eliminations will give points in this Cup, witheach elimination awarding two points.

If you may win all ten of your matches in the Rise of Midas Cup,your max points are 300 in addition to eliminations. If you hope to win the ‘Ascendant Midas’ skin,you’ll need to get a combination of high placements and eliminations.
How To Unlock The ‘Ascendant Midas’ Skin For Free
If you get one of the highest scores in your region,you’ll earn the ‘Ascendant Midas’ skin and the ‘Golden King’s Cape’ back blingfor free. Those who hope tounlock the bundled pickaxe and wrapthrough this Cup will have to wait until the v29.10 updatefor it to be redeemed.
However, there are alsofree Midas pickaxes availablethrough theMidas Presents: The Floor Is Lava quests.
Furthermore,anyone who’s able to earn at least eight pointsacross their ten matches willautomatically unlock the ‘The Rise of Midas’ loading screen.
