Most farming simulator games have some way to process ingredients into other items, usually used for increasing earnings or cooking.Coral Islandincludes this mechanic as well, but you’ll have to unlock artisan equipment first. As you progress with your skills in the game, you’ll receive access to various equipment.

If you’re ready to start making artisan products, you’ll want to have plenty of space for all the different pieces of artisan equipment. Artisan goods can sometimes require multiple types of processing in different equipment as well, so it’s not always straightforward. Find out how to make each artisan item.

What Is An Artisan Good?

Coral Island hasquite a few artisan goods you can produce, but you might be wondering what that even means. For many life and farming sim-type games,an artisan good is something derived from processing an itemor ingredient.

Essentially, this meansyou put in an ingredient such as milk, and you receive cheeseinstead. Some artisan goods in this gamecan be processed multiple times. you’re able to process wheat into beer, and thenprocess it in an Aging Barrel to get Aged Beer.

Other artisan goods can beprocessed multiple times to improve the qualityof the product. Beer, for example, can be aged again.

Artisan goods are a higher-quality product than the original itemor ingredient that was processed. Coral Island has a whole line ofartisan equipment that will process items into something differentand more valuable.

How To Use Artisan Equipment

Artisan equipment in Coral Islanddoesn’t always give you information on how to use it. There’s no tutorial when you create a new piece of equipment and place it on your farm. This can lead to some confusion, because while some equipment is more obvious in its function, such as a Furnace or Cheese Press, other equipment is less obvious.

TheMason Jar is one such piece of equipment that is more mysterious, but has a variety of uses. You canexperiment with all the crops you grow and items you forage, and try putting each item into the Mason Jar.

Additionally, if you’d rather save some time and hassle, if youwalk up to any artisan equipment, you may use the interact key or buttonto get a little pop-up that will tell you what the equipment does. Some equipment will alsotell you the types of items it will accept.

If you try to process an item that the artisan equipment doesn’t accept,it will simply pop up the description box that identifies what equipment you’re using. There won’t be a separate warning telling you the item can’t be accepted.

How To Craft Artisan Equipment

You’ll be notified when you’ve unlocked artisan equipment. If you don’t receive anything in the mail, you’ll want to check your artisan tab in the crafting menu.

If you select a piece ofartisan equipment from the crafting menu, you may see everything you’ll need to craft a single piece of equipment. Once you’ve crafted an item,it’ll be in your inventory and you can place it where you’d like it on your farm, as long as the placement grid shown under the item is green.

You can make multiples of any machineonce you have the recipe for it, and enough space to place them.

Not every piece of artisan equipment produces something that might be considered an artisan good. We’ll still include all the artisan equipmentso you know what each one produces.

Aging Barrel

TheAging Barrel takes artisan goods and processes them furtherinto a different form.Juice becomes a fermented productsuch as wine, while cheese results in a fermented cheese.

Honey (non-black)

Mead

You cannot put vegetable-based juices, such as Okra Juice, into the aging barrel. Thejuice must be fruit-based.

Bee House

TheBee House produces multiple varieties of honeybased on the type of flower you put into the house. The most rare flowers in the game, Titan Arum and Rafflesia both produce Black Honey, while other flowers produce regular Honey based on the flower you use.

TheBee House can process three flowers at a time, which will result in three containers of honey. If you use a Violet, you’ll receive Violet Honey. This meansyou’ll need a lot of inventory space if you want honey from every flower.

If you hold the flower you want to process into honey and approach the Bee House, you’ll see a pop-up that will tell you the finished result. This way, you’re able to be sure you get the type of honey you needbefore you add the flower to the bee house.

Cheese Press

The Cheese Press obviously creates cheese. Funnily enough though, that’s not the only product it creates.

Similar to other artisan equipment, approaching it with a held item will show you what result you’d getfrom processing the item. If it can’t be processed, the pop-up description box will simply show you that the machine is a Cheese Press.

Sugarcane

Syrup

Any time youprocess an item that has a size attached to it, it will stay that size for the resultin artisan equipment. If you put in a large milk, you’ll receive a cheese wheel rather than a single wedge of cheese.

Compost Bin

The Compost Bin is a useful piece of artisan equipment for your farm. It produces compostwhich can be used to create fertilizersthat improve crop quality.

Although useful, the Compost Bindoesn’t produce any other interesting resultsfrom processing items. It does, however, process some items you might not expect.

Vegetables

5 Compost

As you may see,the Compost Bin will produce more efficiently if you use organic-based matterin it. This is useful if you’re trying to tame your inventory, make use of items you don’t use, or produce a lot of fertilizer.

Dehydrator

TheDehydrator turns items you scavenge from the ocean into dried versions. The dried result can be consumed and usuallyprovides more health and stamina than the unprocessedcounterpart.

Dried Zebra Mussel

Extractor

TheExtractor produces Kelp Essence. Each type of kelpproduces a corresponding bottle of essenceonce processed.

Ten pieces of kelp and one piece of glass are requiredto produce a bottle of Kelp Essence. You canprocess up to five bottles of essencein the Extractor, as long asit’s all the same type of kelp. There arefour types of kelp in total:

Kelp Essence isused in recipes and for some tool upgrades. You’ll want quite a few bottles of each kelp type available.

Furnace

The Furnace in Coral Island is what you would expect in a farming sim game. Itprocesses ores into bars.

There arefour types of ores in the game:

To process a bar of ore,you need to use five ores and one piece of coal. The Furnace canprocess up to five bars at a time.

Keg

Kegsproduce a variety of different artisan goodsdepending on the ingredients used. Some of the goods you produce with the Kegneed to be processed again in the Aging Barrelto get the desired results.

You canmake a variety of fruit juices, or vegetable juices. Not all vegetables will work, so you’ll want toapproach the Keg while holding the itemyou want to process. Make sure to get as close as possible to the Keg, andif the item can be processed, it will tell you the resultbefore you put the item into the Keg.

If an item can’t be processed in the Keg,the text box on the screen will continue to indicate that it is a Kegand no additional information will appear unless you attempt to interact with the Keg. It will give an additional text box upon interaction that detailswhich item types the Keg will process.

Beer

Kiln

The Kiln is a piece of artisan equipment thatproduces two items: glass and coal. It’s a simple machine, butextremely useful for completing recipesthat make life easier.

1 Glass

Loom

The Loom is another straightforward piece of artisan equipment. You can expect toproduce artisan goods such as fabric or woolwhen processing the appropriate ingredients.

Thesize of the processed results for any yarns will be relative to the initial ingredientused. ALarge Llama Wool, for example, will produce a Large Llama Yarn.

You cannot processmonster loot such as silky furin the Loom.

Mason Jar

The Mason Jar is great for producingartisan goods that you’ll use frequently in cooking, or that you’re able to use for earning more money.

If you want higher-quality results, make sure to use better quality ingredients. If you use agold-star Large Milk, you should receive a gold-star Large Butter.

Thetype and size of the butter you receive for milk depends upon what size and type of milk you use. If you use goat milk, for example, you’ll receive goat butter instead of regular butter.

Watermelon Jam

Mayonnaise Machine

The humble Mayonnaise Machine doesn’t do much, but if you enjoy cooking in Coral Island, you’re going to want at least one of these. You canprocess a variety of eggs to receive different types of mayonnaiseused in cooking recipes.

You canput any type of egg in the Mayonnaise Machine to process it into a jar of mayonnaiseof the corresponding size and type.

It will accept the following eggs:

Usinggolden eggs will yield two jars of mayonnaiserather than the typical single jar.

Mill

The Mill is anessential building for certain artisan goods. You’ll need it if you want to do any cooking in the game.

From salt to flour, the Mill produces some of the most important artisan goods you’ll use on a regular basis. You’ll need tovisit the carpentry shop to have the Mill builton your property.

Wheat

Wheat Flour

Thequality of ingredients used will determine the quality of the processed result.

Mushroom Log

TheMushroom Log only produces mushrooms. You’ll need tosave some mushrooms from foragingand choose one to put into the Mushroom Log. Over a period of time,it will produce additional mushroomsof the type you selected.

It may be worth noting thatboth the type and quality of the mushroom you put into the Mushroom Log will be duplicated. So, if yougive it an osmium quality shiitake mushroom, you’ll be able to eventuallycollect two additional osmium-quality shiitakemushrooms.

This is useful forrecipes that require specific mushroomsinstead of any available mushroom. As long as youkeep a few of each type of mushroomon hand, you can produce more mushrooms during any season.

Oil Press

As far as artisan equipment goes, the Oil Press is another one that is predictable in its results. It produces oil, butyou’ll receive many different types depending on the ingredientsused for processing.

Truffles

Truffle Oil

Truffles come in two colors: black and white. The type ofoil you receive will match the color of the truffleused for processing. Thequality of the items used will also affect the quality of the oilyou receive.

Recycling Machine

TheRecycling Machine processes certain items into scrap, which can be used in a variety of crafting recipes. Scrap is not only used foritems such as decor, but in obtaining blueprintsfrom the lab.

You can process the following items into scrap:

The Recycling Machinecan process up to 20 pieces of scrapat a time.

Slime Of Replication

The Slime of Replication is a little different from most other artisan equipment units. Rather than changing an item into something different, theSlime of Replication simply duplicates the item.

You can use the Slime of Replication toclone items such as gems, artifacts, and kelp essence bottles. It’s a very useful piece of artisan equipment, and can make life easier bymaking rarer items more accessible.

Items such as gems and artifactscan be sold, gifted, or used in recipes and for some tool upgrades. If you’re not a fan of spending all day in the mines, this could be a great piece of artisan equipment to have.

Things that can be replicated are:

Slime Of Transmutation

TheSlime of Transmutation upgrades the quality of ores, ore bars and kelp essencebottles. If you’re running low on one ore, but have a surplus of another, this artisan equipment may come in handy.

If you need to change the quality of ore bars, you’ll need to provide three bars to turn them into one upgraded bar. It’s much better touse unprocessed ore instead.

The best way to upgrade ore is toturn ten pieces of an ore, like silver ore, into ten pieces of gold ore. Then you can smelt that ore into bars, rather than sacrificing processed ore bars to get one of a better quality.

You’llget one upgraded piece of ore for each lower-quality piece of ore you put into the slime. You won’t be able to produce different types of items at once, but you canproduce up to ten items of the same kind, such as ten essences, or ten ores.

Solar Panel

You might be tempted to ignore the Solar Panel after you unlock it, but it’s actually quite useful. Once you make one and place it on your farm,it will create three batteries over time.

Thesebatteries are necessary to make other crafting recipes, and to trade for blueprintsfrom the lab. Once you have all the batteries you need, you may sell them. They’ll create a form of hassle-free passive income.

Tap

Trees are commonly chopped down for their wood, but it’s nice toleave some intact on your farm. You canuse a Tap to harvest certain resourcesfrom the different types of trees you’ll find on Coral Island.

Poplar

Resin

Many recipes use some of these products derived from trees, but they can also be sold if you don’t need them. It usuallytakes a few in-game days for trees to produce something for harvesting.

Producing artisan goods canhelp with your crafting, or supplement your farming income. They can alsohelp youwin at the Harvest Festival. Artisan goods are definitely worth exploring since, at the very least, they’ll sell for more than the unprocessed raw materials. It never hurts to make a little extra money.
