The skill tree inEnshroudedis quite versatile; you can pick skills from a variety of branches, or simply stick to one route. There are three main groupings of classes based on the three main attributes, which are Intelligence, Dexterity, and Strength.

If magic is your forte, then you’re in luck. In this guide, we are going to go over how to go for a mage build. Remember, there are four Mana-related classes (with the Intelligence attribute); Trickster, Wizard, Healer, and Battlemage. We will be looking at skill nodes for Wizard, Healer, and Battlemage, as well as armor sets and weapons that pair well.

What Is A Mage Build?

Simply speaking, a Mage build is acharacter that deals with magical weapons fueled by Mana.As such, skills that boost Mana or alter magical power are great choices. We won’t just leave you hanging though; next, we are going to look at recommended skills for a Mage.

What Skills To Unlock For A Mage Build

There are two main types of mage builds that you may go for. If you play solo orprefer to deal damage more than being support, you can go for a normal DPS build. If, on the other hand, you want to be support for a group of friends, you can go thehealing mageroute.

Overall, aim to unlock nodes that increase intelligence first. This will boost your magical damage. If you need more Mana, you canunlock nodes that increase Spirit.

DPS Mage

DPS Mages are essentiallybuilt to deal damage. This can be done on both the Wizard and Battlemage routes. The Battlemage branch is filled with nodes that primarily increase your total damage. For example, the fourth node has two smaller ones going out to each side, whichincreases damage and adds more wand projectiles.

Wizards have similar nodes, however, you canfind more skills that increase or add elemental damage. For example, Radiant Aura will cause nearby Fell enemies to take one fire damage per intelligence per second.

In terms of DPS, you may choose either branch, as well ascombine both to make your own version of a Mage. The process of building a Mage is fairly simple; just stick to these branches, unlocking skills as you level up and obtain skill points.

Healing Mage

If you plan on being a support character for a group, then you can unlock nodes along the Healer branch. These increase intelligence, as well as provide healing passives, such as Water Aura. This is an incredibly useful skill that heals all allies within 15 meters by one HP per every two points of intelligence.

As a solo player, you may alsounlock Healer nodes to increase your survivability.Don’t be afraid to mix and match skills to fit your playstyle!

Healer Enshrouded

If you’re playing with others,be sure to plan out which Mage you should be, especially if more than one person is being a mage. You don’t want to end up with a party full of DPS Mages, with little to no healing abilities!

Can You Reset The Skill Tree?

The skill tree can bereset from your Flame Altar. This will just take some Runes, so if you decide to change your build around, it’s fairly simple. Additionally, you may want to change your build as you progress in the game.

If you unlocked HP-boosting skills early in the game but now want to pivot to increased magical damage and more stamina, you’re able to do just that.

Mage Build Armor Sets

Armor sets for Mages can becrafted with the Alchemist. At first, you will only be able to craft the Alchemist Apprentice Set, but by completing Alchemist quests and obtaining new items, you canincrease the amount of armor sets available.

Armor is fairly linear;as you unlock new sets, they tend to get better. When you unlock a new armor set, be sure to check it out and compare it to your current set. Chances are, the stats are a bit better.

The ‘best’ armor is thelevel 23 Warlock set. This consists of the following pieces.

Of course, wearing all five pieces of this set isn’t a necessity. You canmix pieces from other Mage-related sets, as well as from other classes. If you want to pad your health a bit, there are tons of armor pieces that you can include to boost your HP.

Mage Build Weapons

Lastly, let’s go over weapons that you will want to use in your Mage build. There are two main types of magical weapons;wands and staffs.Wands fire magical energy that deal damage and does not require any ammo or Mana.

Staffs, on the other hand, require Mana andstaff charges, which are magical spell ammo.Spell charges have their own damage, but a strong staff can greatly boost this. The weapon you use greatly depends on what you find in the world and what is available to craft.

Since the Kindlewastes biome is the ‘final’ biome that you can visit, the weapons found here tend to be the best. This includes weapons like theElder Staff and Blackened Staff. You can still find powerful weapons in the other biomes, but they may not have power.

Wands are pretty much the same as staffs in terms of availability. For both weapons,we suggest using the Legendary variation if you find one.If not, you can simply use the best weapon you have on hand.

Weapons can be crafted as well; be sure to visit the Alchemist every once in a while tosee what the best staff or wand you may craft is.

What Staff Charges To Use

There are a lot of staff charges available and overall, most are pretty good. If you are more of a healing Mage, you may also useHeal Channel, Chain Heal, Eternal Chain Heal, and Eternal Heal Channel to heal allies (as well as yourself).

Overall though, every staff charge can come in handy.Once you progress far enough, you can alsowield the Shroud Meteor staff charge. This is a powerful spell that leaves an AoE of damage, dealing Shroud damage, as well as consuming a portion of your Shroud timer. As such, youshouldn’t use this spell when you are running low on time.
