However, you’ll need some tools to complete tasks and work on cleaning up the riff-raff and trash that has become a blight on the island. The island’s steward, Matayoshi, is more than happy to lend you a hand on your journey to unlock each area of the island and expand your available resources.

What Are Your Dondoko Island Tools?

Kasuga will need more than just his hands to perform the daily tasks necessary to restore and maintain the natural beauty of Dondoko Island.

You have access tothree toolsthat will help you perform every task that pops up on Dondoko Island:

Kasuga’s baseball bat is a multifaceted tool, helping him to clear out the trash littering the island and fend off the attacking Washbucklers, who seek to keep the island bogged down with garbage.

The netis reminiscent of a butterfly net and will be used to help catch bugs while on the island.

Kasuga speaks to Kenzo about upgrading his bat in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Bugs are specialties of the island and can be used tocreate souvenirs for your guests.

The harpoonwill help Kasuga catch fish in the water and can be used at designated fishing spots near the jetties to the south and east.

How Do You Upgrade Your Bat, Harpoon, and Net?

Before you’re able to upgrade your tools, you’ll need to progress a few days on Dondoko Island, helping Matayoshi, Mukku, and Gachapin to sort out the basics.

Once that’s done, Matayoshi will invite an old friend to the island –Kenzo.

Kenzois the resident fixer of Dondoko Island, offering to expand Kasuga’s house andupgrade his tools – for a cost.

Tool Upgrade Costs

Each tool begins at level one and can be upgraded to amaximum level of four.

To upgrade your bat, net, or spear fromlevel one to two, you will have to pay50,000 Dokobucks per upgrade.

The second upgrade – fromtier two to three– will be more costly, to the tune of150,000 Dokobucks each.

The third upgrade – fromtier three to four– will require a hefty sum of300,000 Dokobucks per tool.

You can earn Dokobucks by performing tasks from the suggestion box, inviting guests, and clearing areas – which will net you both resources and Dokobucks as you expand your operations.

The benefits of upgradingare quite noticeable, particularly once you reach the final tier.

Upgrading the batwill improve its handling and make it swing much faster.

Similarly, thebug net will swing much faster, and become far less infuriating to use.

Leveling up yourharpooncauses the reticle tocharge much fasterwhen preparing to spear a fish.

The first upgrades should be purchased immediately, once you have amassed the necessary amount of Dokobucks.

This will allow you to more efficiently perform your daily tasks without becoming frustrated by the sluggish tools.
