As you live out your life as a high school student inPersona 3 Reload, you’ll meet a lot of people, both at school and around town. You’ll be able to get to know their life stories, and you’ll be able to form a bond with them called Social Links.
These Social Links are each connected to an Arcana, and your Personas will gain bonuses from Social Links of a similar type. One Social Link you’re able to form is with one of your classmates, Kenji Tomochika. You’ll meet Kenji early on, and you’ll form a bond when he asks you to join him for a meal after class.
How To Unlock The Magician Social Link
You’ll first need to be introduced toKenji Tomochikaat school in order to unlock theMagician Arcana Social Link.
OnApril 21, you’ll meet him at the school gates in theearly morning. He’ll call out to you and introduce himself asyour classmate in 2-F.
OnApril 22, Kenji will meet you at the school gate again in the early morning. That same day, he’ll walk up to you after school toinvite you out to eat some ramen.
You’ll then haveno options on how to spend your afternoon, and you’ll accompany Kenji to have some ramen.
You don’t have to worry about what responses to pick for your initial interactions with him, becauseyou’ll unlock the Magician Social Link either way.
From then on, you’ll be able to grow your Social Link rank with Kenjiafter school, when he’sseated in the classroom, oron holidays, when hesends you a message on your phoneto invite you out for the day.
Take note that hanging out with Kenjiwill take the activity slotfor the time period of your meet-up. If you meet him on a school day, it’ll take up the"After School" time slot. If you meet him on a holiday, it’ll take up the"Daytime" time slot.
Magician Social Link Overview
The Social Link you can form with Kenji Tomochika is of theMagician Arcana. You’ll be able toearn bonuseswhen building your Social Link with him if you have a Magician Persona with you.
Also, when you form a Social Link with Kenji, you’llgain bonuseswhen youfuse Personas of the Magician Arcana.
In order to grow this Social Link, you’ll need tohang out with Kenji.
You should say yes to his invitations to meet upduring the holidays, and you should spend time with himduring the hours after schoolif you want to get your Magician Social Link rank up quickly.
Magician Social Link Guide
After you establish your Social Link with Kenji, you can grow it bychoosing certain responses in your conversationswith him. You’ll be able to do so starting from Social Linkrank two.
Agreeing to hang out with Kenji will give you a+1to your Social Link. While you’re with him, some responses will give you additional points to your Social Link, with amax of +3 pointsin a single response.
You’ll get higher points if you have aPersona of the Magician Arcana.

Should You Max Out Your Magician Social Link?
Unlike other Social Links, working on your Magician Social Linkwon’t open Social Links to other people.
That being said, it’s easy to rank this Social Link up becauseyou can frequently meet up with Kenji, andthere’s no rush in maxing it outright away. Also, this isone of the first Social Linksyou’ll be able to unlock.
Of course, you can benefit from forming this Social Link as youfuse Personas of the Magician Arcana. The ability tofuse special Personas, such as theFutsunushithat you receive from arank 10 Social Link with Kenji, will make your party a lot more powerful when it comes to fighting Shadows.
Also,Elizabeth with grant you rewardswhen you grow your Social Links, so it’s worth spending time on them.
