Dragon’s Dogma 2is littered with massive monsters for you and your powerful Pawns to best in battle if you’re prepared to tackle the challenge. Ogres are large, imposing creatures that can easily destroy you and your Pawns, particularly in the early game.
Mastering fights against Ogres in Dragon’s Dogma 2 relies on your knowledge of careful spacing, vocations, skills, and an Ogre’s weakness. Given their unpredictable nature, you’ll also want to be ready to heal your party – Ogres can pack a massive punch against even the most well-prepared Arisen.
Where Do You Find Ogres?
Ogres are located in bothVerdunandBattahl, so you will encounter them throughout your adventures in both regions in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
They tend to keep towildareas, like theforestsanddesertsin their respective regions.
Travel along the roads and keep your eyes on any tree linings and other natural outcroppings where an ogre may be lurking.
How Do You Fight Ogres?

These two roles are essential to dictating the flow of battle, though the healer is slightly more important overall if you can only fit one.
Ogre’s Weakness
Ogres are particularly vulnerable tofire, so if you can inflict the Caught Fire or Torched debilitations on an Ogre, you’ll severely damage it.
Ogres can betarredto increase the intensity of theburningeffect, effectively increasing theirweaknesstofire.
Magescan use theirFlagrationspell to set Ogres onfireorempowermelee characters withfiredamage on theirweaponsso that they can set the beast alight from up close.
Warriors,Fighters, andThievesshould take solace in theirblades, as cutting an Ogre is also extremely effective, given that they have no protective shells to stop the sword from slicing.
Arrows can perform decently against Ogres, but generally are less effective than other options. A Sorcerer would get more mileage considering it shares a similar weakness (frailty).
