Terminids are one of the two enemy types you’ll be democratically liberating the galaxy from inHelldivers 2, and these bugs come from not just any planet, but a bug planet. Armed with scythe-like claws, teeth, and even acid, these nasty bugs infest Super Earth’s planets, cover them in huge nests, and kill any humans in their way while doing so.

Like the Automatons, they’re a threat to Super Earth and democracy, so you’ve got to go down planet-side and clear them out. A well-prepared Helldiver is a successful Helldiver, and you’ll want all the knowledge possible to send these bugs packing for democracy’s sake.

How To Encounter Terminid Enemies

Terminids occupy theright side of the galaxy, in thegold-colored zones east of Super Earth, and their influencecovers a number of planetswithin the five zones they hold.

Terminid enemies can be found inany of the missions and campaigns within their zones, but thedifficulty you choosewilldetermine how many enemies you fight, and theTerminid types you’ll findin them.

Trivial and higher

Scavengerare thesmallest Terminids you’ll encounter, and they’re pretty much the drones of the Terminid army.

You’ll beencountering these pestsmore often than any other Terminid, usuallyaround points of interestand as thefirst wave of a Bug Breach, andhordes of them accompany any big Terminid.

Be wary of Scavenger patrols, as they cancall for back-upandstart a Bug Breachin the immediate area.

Unlike the bigger Terminids,Scavengers aren’t very durable. They’ve got light armor, and you cankill them in a few shotswithpretty much any weaponin the game, or withtwo to three melee hitsif they get too close.

Light

Warriorareanother of the most common Terminidsyou’ll be coming across, and like their name suggests, they’re some of themain warriors sent out from Terminid hives.

Attriple the size of a Scavenger, Warriors aremore powerfulbutmove slowerthan them, and havethicker armor on their faces and backs.

Aim for their stomachsand lower face with weapons such as theLiberator assault rifle,Punisher shotgun, or theRedeemer pistolto hit through their armor andkill them quickly.

you’re able to also use weapons like theBreaker shotgun or the Grenade Launcherto hit through andburst their frontal armor in just a few shots.

Though theydon’t always kill in one hit, you canstill use grenades against Warriorsin a pinch, especially if there are other Terminids around.

They’lldo serious damage to them, and arecapable of knocking off a Warrior’s limbs, making them more vulnerable and their movement more sluggish.

Easy and higher

Bigger than the Scavengers, but smaller than the Warriors,Hunterarefast and furiousenemies thatoften use ambush tacticson you and your fellow Helldivers.

Huntersattack twice as fast as Scavengersand Warriors both, and canhit you multiple times in a rowwith boththeir claws and the tentacle-like appendagesinside their mouths.

Hunters arecapable of dodging incoming shotsbyjumping to either side, and they’ll sometimessneak up behind you with their dodge.

Player character running to the side to avoid a Bile Titan’s acid attack while an Orbital Strike is primed to hit it in Helldivers 2.

If you’re at a distance, you canuse long-range weaponslike theAnti-Material Rifleto single out andkill Hunters before they get too closeto you, but ifthey’re alreadyup close, yourbest weaponagainst them isshotguns and explosives.

Shotguns like the Breakercankill them in a single hit, and thespread of the shotscan help youhit the Hunter even if it’s movingand give you a chance to hit them directly.

Medium or higher

Stalkerare an especially dangerous and unique type of Terminid, capable ofbecoming almost completely invisible. If they’re under their invisibility, they’ll appear aslarge, pale-white or gray figures with no featuresamong other Terminids.

The Eagle Smoke Strike,Orbital Smoke Strike, and exploding spore pods can allhelp reveal where a Stalker iswhen fighting them.

Stalkers themselvesaren’t much more durable than a regular Warrior, but theydo far more damage, andinflict some of the highest knockbackout of all the Terminids.

Asingle swipefrom a Stalker canthrow you several feet away, and can kill you just as quickly with impact damage, so you’ll want tostick to long-range weaponrywhen dealing with them, like theLiberator assault rifle, or theAnti-Material Rifle.

Sentries likeGuard Dog “Rover"and theGatling Sentryalso provide excellent back-up against Stalkers and canautomatically lock onto them despite their invisibility.

Stalkers originate from theirown specific Stalker Nests, and you’re able to locate themby looking fordark, crater-like formations on the mapthat are near other bug nests, butaren’t marked with a red danger zone.

Medium

Trivial or higher

Brood Commanderare some of the most heavily armored Terminids, andany large Terminid groupwill usually haveat least one Brood Commander.

These Terminids willfrequently call for back-uplike Scavenger patrols tend to do, andbring Bug Breaches with them.

Whileextremely slow, the Brood Commanders make up for this by having armor that protects their front half, and theironly vulnerable spots are their stomachs, rear ends, and thebottom of their face.

Explosive weapons like theGrenade Launcher, or weapons with stronger penetration like theAnti-Material Riflecantake them out in a few shots, but anOrbital Strike can be just as effective, since they tend tobring other Terminid with them.

If theytake too much damage from the front, Brood Commanders willhunker down and stop attacking, giving you or a teammate theopportunity to hit them from behind.

Brood Commanders are alsoincredibly susceptible to incendiary weaponslike the Flamethrower, andcan’t move fast enough to get out of the fire.

Heavy

Chargers are massive, tank-like Terminidsand, like their name suggests, theylove to charge you downand run you over.

Despite their size,Chargerarefast and can turn quicklyas long as theyhaven’t built up to their maximum speed. They’ve got aheavily armored face, but theirentire thorax is a vulnerable areamade up of a large, orange-ish sack.

Weapons like theAutocannon and Anti-Material Riflecanpenetrate through their frontal armor, but standing still fordirect shots can easily get you run over.

For those playing alone, you canuse the prone positionto get shots off on them. Whenthey charge you, wait a moment thendive to either side, and you’llhave a few seconds to shoot thembefore they turn around.

If you’rerunning with a team, one of you cantake the Charger’s aggrowhile theothers follow behind and attack the sackon their thorax.

You canbriefly stun Chargersby luring them away andtricking them into run into rocks and buildings, or byusing the Orbital EMS Strike.

If you’rehaving trouble getting through the Charger’s armor, or getting enough time to actually do damage to them before they charge, heavy ordinance is always an option.

Stratagems like theOrbital Laser can lock onto a Charger and damage ituntil it dies, and sentries like theGatling Sentry or Rocket Sentrycanhandle a Charger while you avoid it.

Bile Spewerare nasty, not-so-armored Terminids that carry amassive sack on their abdomens filled with acidic liquid, andattack at long range.

The Bile Spewer’smost vulnerable spots are the sackand thefront of its head, but aiming at the sack is a moresurefire way to damage them.

Light weapons deal reduced damageto the Bile Spewer’s sack, souse explosives like grenadesto blow up its underside, or theGrenade Launcher to hit its sack directly.

Be carefulnot to burst a Bile Spewer’s sack next to youor your teammates, or you’llend up damagedby anexplosion of acid.

Mines are also effective against Bile Spewers, as you can throw it out ahead of you and let the Bile Spewers walk into all the mines.

Challenging or higher

Bile Titanare the biggest and baddest of all the Terminids, and tower over even the Chargers. Like the Bile Spewers, theirprimary attack is vomiting acideverywhere, but they’remuch more durable, andmuch faster.

When facing a Bile Titan, yourbest strategy is to stay far awayfrom it, andhit it with the heaviest weaponsyou have access to, such asAutocannons, Railguns, and Grenade Launchers.

Make sureany sentries you’re placing downto fight it are afar distance awayas well, since theycan be destroyed almost instantlyby a Bile Titan.

Due to their size, you canuse the environment to your advantagewhen facing Bile Titans. It canget trapped on large rocks and walls, orneed to navigate around them, which cangive you timeto reload oraim for the vulnerable spots on its underside.

you’re able to alsouse a bait strategy like with Chargers, and let theBile Titan chase after you or one of your teammateswhile the rest of youattack it from behind with long-range weapons.

Use the environment for coveragainst the Bile Titan.Large rocks and even parts of their nestscan helpstop their acid from hitting youif you dive behind them in time.

TheOrbital Laser or Orbital Railgunare two of thebest ordinances to use, as they’ll lock onto the Bile Titanspecifically, but even awell-placed Precision Strikecankill a Bile Titan in a single hit at lower difficulties.

Large-radius ordinancelike the 120MM HE Barrage or the380MM HE Barrageare alsogreat againstnot onlyBile Titansbutall the Terminids that tend to accompany themsince you’ll usually find them in nests.
