As soon as you start playingPalworld, you’ll soon realize that catching pals using various pal spheres is the main attraction of the game. You’ll be spending most of your time either crafting more spheres or going around using them on pals all around the map.

Whenever you throw a sphere in an attempt to capture a pal, there’s a specific success rate that’s displayed just before you throw it. This rate can be increased quite easily if you pay attention to some of the basic mechanics and items.

Palworld High Rate With Back Bonus

Lower The Target Pal’s Health

The first thing you’ll notice when you see a pal in Palworld is that each one has a health bar just below their name when you’re inspecting them. This bar can be reduced byhitting them with melee weapons like Spears or shooting them with Guns or Crossbows, and it’s also the main mechanic to increase your capture rate.

If you try to capture a pal at maximum health, especially during the early game, you’ll fail most of the time. There willalso be times when the sphere simply bounces off their bodybecause the chances are so low. It is highly recommended to get every pal down to at least 25 percent of their total health before attempting a capture.

Palworld Sphere Assembly Line II

Of course, if you’ve reached the late game, you can easilycapture low-level pals with high-tier sphereswithout lowering their health.

Back Bonus Is Essential If You Want To Avoid A Battle

As you explore the giant map of Palworld, there might be timeswhen you can’t afford to battle a certain palfor many reasons:

In these situations, if you still want to attempt capturing the pal,you have to make use of the Back Bonus. This bonus triggers when you hit the pal with a sphere from their back without them noticing. Keep in mind that youcan’t use this if you’re in a battle with the palor if they notice you, which is displayed by a question mark on their head.

Back Bonus gives a significant increase to your capture rate and it alsoreduces the chances of your sphere bouncing off the pal’s body. However, if your first attempt with the Back Bonus fails, the target pal will start attacking you, making it impossible to try again.

You can avoid the pal’s aggro by waiting for nighttime andusing the Back Bonus when they’re asleep.

Thiscan prevent them from attacking youeven if the capture fails, but you can’t use this method on night pals.

Traps And Status Effects Can Increase Your Rate

Various traps and status effects are some of the most underrated mechanics in Palworld, especially when it comes to capturing high-level pals. As you level up in the game, you can make various bear traps to immobilize certain pals for a few seconds. You can alsomake items like mines or weapons to apply various status effects.

Some of these effects includeburning, frozen, or electrocuted.

Apart from that, you can alsoapply these status effects on enemies using certain pal abilities. Whenever an enemy is trapped or has one of these effects, the capture rate for that pal increases. You can see this increase by aiming thePal Sphereat them before and after the effect, and this mechanic can easily save you a ton of pal spheres in certain situations.

The Tier And Quantity Of Spheres Matter

Finally, the most important thing when you’re trying to capture a specific pal is tokeep in mind the type and number of pal spheres you have. For example, you won’t be able to capture a level 40 pal using a basic or Mega Sphere. Similarly, it’s a waste to try and capture a level ten pal while using a high-tier sphere.

As you level up and unlock newer items, you’ll be able to craft high-tier spheres. However, thesealso take a ton of materials that can be quite difficult to farm. All of this comes together to make it important to consider your sphere management.

It’s also recommended to have a good number ofspheres from each typein your inventory in case you get unlucky.

These spheres don’t weigh a lot, and it feelsquite bad if you end up missing a rare pal capturejust because you didn’t have enough spheres.
