With numerous regions to explore, a plethora of open-world activities to engage in, and entertaining mini-games to enjoy, the game offers endless opportunities for exploration and enjoyment.
Like other open-world experiences, side quests play a crucial role in the gameplay and they are your way to go if you want to level up your characters much more effecinly or get your hands on some new eqquyipents or materia. Among the multiple side queasrts avialbe in the game is Woodland Vigil.
How To Begin Woodland Vigil
After successfullycompleting theEscape from Endless Writer’s Blockquest in theGongaga region, you’ll find that theWoodland Vigil side quest becomes immediately available for you to take on.
Cissnei, determined to investigate the monsters' activities, is persuaded by her friends that the mercenary, Cloud, is better suited for the mission. She hands youa pair of binocularsand asks you tohead to the Observation Towerto survey the surrounding area.
How To Reach The Observation Tower
While you’ll receive an objective marker indicating the location of the Observation Tower, navigating through Gongaga can be challenging, and you might not be sure how to get there.
To the east of the objective marker on the map, you’ll findExpedition Intel 3: Valefloor Lifespringnearby. If youhead to the hill above, you’ll noticea branch that you can use your Chocobo to slide on, leading you directly to the tower. After the slide, there will bea rope to the side that you can climbto reach the top.
The primary objective here is to check for suspicious enemy movements nearby using binoculars.
Where To Find All The Enemy Locations
Enemy Location #1
The first locationcan be foundnear the Remnawave Tower.Hold triangle to mark that location on your mapand head towards it. Upon reaching this location, you’ll encounter enemies, including two Grandhorn Wardens.
They arevulnerable to Fire, so havinga Fire materiaorYuffie in your partywill help you dispatch them quickly. After defeating these enemies,return to the Observation Tower by fast traveling.
Enemy Location #2
For the second location, use the binoculars andlook to your rightto spot another suspicious movement, then hold triangle to reveal the location on the map. Head to this new location anddefeat the monsters there
These should be easier to deal with.
Enemy Location #3
There’s one more location to investigate, soreturn to the towerandlook near the Moogle house. You’ll find the last location marked asLarge Shadow. Head to this location and face theGigantoad.
This enemy is weak to Ice, soYuffie, with her Ice Ninjutsu, will be very effective. Additionally, if youinflict enough damage to its tongue,you’ll pressure the enemyand leave it vulnerable, allowing you tobuild up the stagger meter even faster.
Once you defeat it, Cissnei will appear to reward you for your efforts. Your reward includesFortunes Untold Vol. VI, EXP, Party EXP,anda change in your relationship with Aerith.
