It’s no secret thatSons of the Forestis filled head-to-toe with nightmare-inducing monsters looking to rip you apart at any chance they’re able to, and many might want to safely deal with these abominations as far away as they can be. For those looking to dispatch the creatures of the forest from a distance, there isn’t much more important than having the Rifle as a part of your arsenal.
The Rifle is a long-distance weapon that comes equipped with a red-dot scope attachment, allowing you to accurately take down cannibals from afar. If you’re having trouble locating the Rifle, this guide will show you exactly where you need to go to get it.
Where Is The Rifle Located
The Rifle can be found hidden deep inside a cave on theeastern side of the snowy mountains, alongside the shore of the lake; it’s the largest body of water on the map.
The entrance to the cave islocated on the upper left side of the lake and will be boarded up. Break through the wooden planks and begin your descent inside.
There is a decently long swimming section within the cave, so make sure youhave theRebreather equippedbefore entering.
Once you enter, stick to the right side of the cave andwalk past the broken boat. You will head up a path marked by wooden planks on the rocks.
The steep path will spit you out into an open room where you will continue to move against the right side wall. This will lead you toa low entrance that you must crouch through.
Upon entering deeper into the cave, there will be agold cave painting directly ahead of you.
Head towards the painting and then turn right. There will be adead body lying against a rockand to the left of it will be some more wooden planks that you will follow.
Keep going down the narrow path, you will end up in a fairly large area with many stalagmites and stalactites.
Stay to the right and travel along a ledge that will lead you to another pathwaymarked by clumps of golden material. Follow the path, and it will take you to a flooded section.
Using your Rebreather, jump into the water andhug the right side of the wall to find the path forward. Keep swimming forward and you will reach the next section.
After exiting the water, you willfollow the stone path aheadinto another room with a stone hill on the right. Go up the path and continue alongside the stalagmites.
You will see a lighted spot withskulls hanging from the ceiling. Next to the skulls will be a dead soldier along with some body parts at his feet.
Go left of the body and there will be another stone incline that leads you totwo more dead soldiers on the ceiling.The one on the left is holding the Rifle.
All you have to do now is take the gun from him, and now you have found the Rifle.
