Between magic and natural remedies, the people ofDragon’s Dogma 2are constantly working on improving the science of medicine. Most of it is done by scholars, healers, and mages, but some people do it themselves, for better or for worse.
A Bakbattahli resident by the name of Jarle is one of those experimenting and working on new ways to heal from his own home, but he doesn’t have anyone to help him on the practical side. That’s where you, the Arisen, come in. Who better to help than a person who’s less likely to die, and comes with helpers?

How To Start A Poisonous Proposal
This quest becomes available once youreach the city of Bakbattahl, which you may get to by either (completing the main quest, Feast of Deception, or bysneaking into Battahl using aBeastren Mask)
Beastren Masks can be purchased from several shops and merchants inCheckpoint Rest Town, particularly theScrap Shop.

Head to the small livingarea on the edge of Bakbattahlnear Battahl Rope Station One andThe Rockmouse’s Burrow tavern, and enter thehome across from it.
Upon entering, you’ll begreeted by a man named Jarle, and he’ll quickly proposition you in regard tohelping him with his medical research.

His first task for you will be toget poisoned by an Aspand thenreturn to him while still poisoned.
How To Get Poisoned By An Asp
Asps are afairly common enemyin Battahl, but you’ll most oftenfind them near rivers and water pools. They appear likelarge, purple-ish lizardswith ahaze around them, and wield spears like Saurians, their sibling enemy.
You’llneed to be afflicted bya particular Debilitation calledFulminant Poison, which occurs when youget hit by additional poisoning/blighting attackswhile you’re already blighted.
Locate some Asps, then eithergo into the fight soloand command your Pawns to Wait nearby, orengage in it normallyandintentionally let the Asps blight youas much as possible with their attacks.
When youend up with Fulminant Poison, the quest will update, and you’ll be able tokill the Asps normally. Head all the way back to Bakbattahl, andspeak to Jarle while you’re still poisoned.
Make sure any Pawns you bring with youdon’t have a Debilitation-healing item or spellsuch as High Celerity, so they don’t heal it off of you early.
He’ll thank you for your assistance, andprovide you with free healingthat takes away the debilitation. Next, Jarle will ask you togetpoisoned by a Venin Harpy, andcome back to himwhile poisoned again.
How To Get Poisoned By A Venin Harpy
Youwon’t have to go far from Bakbattahlto find Venin Harpies, as not only are they one of themore common enemies, but several groups of them can be found near Bakbattahl.
Use a similar strategy to the one used against the Asps, andlet the Venin Harpies grab onto you and spray you with poisonuntil you get poisoned by them, and thequest objective updates.
Finish off the harpies, thenreturn to Jarle again while you’re still poisonedfor another interaction with him. He’ll heal you again, and then he’llask you for one last favor–helping him get poisonedinstead.
How To Help Jarle Get Poisoned By A Chimera
After you speak with Jarle, he’ll run off, and you’ll need tomeet him in an area of north of Bakbattahl, which you’re able to reach by leaving via thenorthern exit in the Residential Ward.
Follow that road north until you reach asmall cave off to the side of X, and you’ll find Jarle waiting for you outside.Talk with him, then head into it with him, and you’ll quicklycome across a lone Chimerainside the cave.
For the most part,Jarle will keep away from the majority of the danger, but you’ll need him to specificallyget poisonedby theSnake’s poison-spewing attack.
Thebest and safest methodto get him poisoned is for you to let your Pawns fight, thengrab Jarle and run him into the Snake’s poisonwhen you see the attack happening.
You maysave aWakestonefor this side questin case Jarle manages to die during the fight, as he will, at times, run toward the Chimera.
you may alsofight the Chimera normallyand thenlet Jarle run into one of its poison attackswhileyou and your Pawns distractthe Lion and Goat heads.
As soon as he gets poisoned,Jarle will run out of the cave, leaving you to fight Chimera normally without fear of him dying. Once it’s dead,return to Bakbattahl and talk to Jarleone more time.
How To Complete A Poisonous Proposal
Last thing you’ll need to do for Jarle’s quest is tolet a few in-game days pass, generally aroundtwo to three days, then go back to his home andspeak to him again.
Jarle will update you on the poison’s effects, and you’ll finallyget a reward for all your hard workin the form of19,000 Goldand aRing of Purification, which blocks blight from building up on you.
