While there are deep mysteries to be solved on the island inSons of the Forest, you won’t be able to fully explore it until you’ve figured out how to survive on long journeys. One of the core needs is ensuring that your character is hydrated, with the Canteen, known as a Flask in-game, being the most useful tool to transport water.
While it might not be the easiest item to locate, crafting enough for you and your entire team is possible. As long as you have the right resources and know where on the island to look, you’ll be sipping fresh water out of your Flask anywhere on the island.
How To Get A Flask
AFlask allows you to transport waterwhile you’re away from safe resources, but it canonly be obtained from one of the 3D printerson the island. Once you find one, you can print the Flask for 100 mL, which is just one cartridge of ink.
One of the easier and less guarded 3D printers to locateisn’t far from the helicopter crash sitein the forest, only slightly northwest of where you start at that spawn point. You can alsohead west from the reservoirwith all the branching rivers,turning slightly to the northin between the connecting paths.
There areno cannibals or mutants in this cave, as it’s just a downward slope into a long hallway with the 3D printer at the end.
There’sno marker or other notifying features next to the cave, making it easy to miss unless you know exactly where to look. Once you do find it,consider placing a GPS locatoron a stick or other item so that you know how to get back when you need to.
Once you print the flask, you’ll still need toensure that you’re filling it from a clean watersource to get the full benefits. This caneither be a rain catcher or from clean waterthat’s been boiled in a pot over the fire.
If you’re looking to print more than one Flask and other items,you’ll need to collect extra printer ink from cavesand other hidden areas on the island.
