InDragon’s Dogma 2, exploration is highly encouraged, and quests are not all clearly marked on the map like in most other RPGs. Instead, you’ll need to actively engage with characters by interacting with them to discover if they have quests for you or need your assistance. Sometimes, as you explore the world, you may also be approached by NPCs who will offer you quests spontaneously.
A prime example of this gameplay approach can be found early in the capital city of Vernworth. Here, you’ll encounter numerous characters whom you can interact with, potentially leading to them offering you quests. One notable instance is an elf you’ll come across, who seems to be gazing at a shop with a troubled expression. It’s a clear indication that he might be in need of help.
