This year,Pokemon Gowill be celebrating Valentine’s Day with theCarnival of Love Event, offering several bonuses and features that fit this theme. In addition to these bonuses, a Pokemon’s Shiny variation will be making their Pokemon Go debut with this event, so you won’t want to miss out on this event.

This will only be a three-day event, centered around Valentine’s Day; taking placefrom Tuesday, July 04, 2025, at 10am local time to Thursday, July 09, 2025, at 8pm local time.All the information you need to make the most of this event is provided below in our complete event guide.

Pokemon Go Debut: Shiny Oricorio

Shiny Oricoriowill be appearing in Pokemon Go for the first time since the game’s release, a Pokemon that has a handful of region variants. During this event, you can expect toencounter Oricorio in the wild,so make sure to log in and adventure during these three days for a chance to catch this new Shiny Pokemon.

As mentioned above, Oricorio has four different styles,Baile Style, Pom-Pom Style, Pa’u Style, and Sensu Style.

You willonly encounter one of these four styles, depending on which region you are playing Pokemon Go in.

Heart Trim Furfrou Returns

Furfrou is a Pokemon that can be altered with different trims,some harder to acquire than others. This includesFurfrou’s Heart Trim, a style that is typically only available during annual Valentine’s Day-themed events.

During the Carnival of Love Event, you will be able to alter Furfour to acquire this trim, something that is typically unavailable for the rest of the year. In order to complete this alteration, you will need to spend25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Starduston a Furfrou in your Pokemon Go collection.

Event Bonuses

There will betwo bonusesactive during the Carnival of Love Event, both giving you theopportunity to acquire Candy XL, an extremely rare Pokemon Go resource. Both of these bonuses can be found below.

Additionally, there will be anextra bonus for those playing Pokemon Go in Brazil. Trainers in Brazil who log in and play during this event will benefit fromdouble XP when catching different Pokemon.

With this being Timed Research, make sure tocomplete all tasks for it before the Carnival of Love Event has concluded, otherwise they will expire without you being able to earn their rewards.

Field Research Task Encounters

Claimevent Field Research Tasksby visiting and spinning PokeStop Photo Discs during the Carnival of Love Event. Completing some of these tasks will reward you with anencounter with an event-themed Pokemon, many of which are rare in Pokemon Go.

There will be anevent-themed Collection Challengeavailable for all players to complete during the Carnival of Love Event. Catch and evolve specific event-themed Pokemon to earnStardust, XP, and an encounter with Roserade.

Event Pokemon Showcases

There will beevent Pokemon Showcasestaking place at different PokeStops throughout the days of this event. Uniquely, you will be able to enter yourlargest Buddy Pokemonto earn points for these Pokemon Showcases, providing better rewards for those who score the most points.

The Buddy Pokemon that are eligible for these Pokemon Showcases will have to be aGreat Buddy or higher.

With this in mind,try to get one of your biggest Pokemon to the level of Great Buddyprior to this event.
