Enshrouded’sgear crafting system gets quite complex when you reach the endgame. The materials, especially Padding, not only take a lot of time to craft but also need various new materials to craft. Crafting Padding is one of the hardest things to produce in Enshrouded because the materials needed take several steps to get to the finished product.
On the other hand, it is the price to pay to get some of those endgame gear sets for combat. Once you get your completed sets by producing exorbitant amounts of Padding, you may finish any form of content in Enshrouded.

Enshrouded is still in early access. Everything is subject to change and will be updated when required.
Hand Spindle unlocked
The Loom unlocked
The requirements look daunting, but most of these stations and tools are unlocked from the main quest with The Hunter. In short, when you are researching how to get Padding, you’ll most probably have the Hunter, the Drying Station, the Tanning Station, and the Hand Spindle unlocked already.
The Loom will most likely be the last since you’ll unlock it after finishing the quest in East Lapis, which has enemies over level 20+.

Here’s another table for the materials and where to get them.
Random animals and Vulkahs.

Tanning Station (Fur, Salt, and Ammonia Gland).
Red Mushroom Creatures (Enshrouded area enemy).
Flax
Around Revelwood (but it is better to set up a farm because you need a ton of Flax).
When you are farming Salt from the Egerton Salt Mines, make sure you oversupply yourself with Salt. It is needed in multiple crafts, and they are easy to get in bulk when you are already in the mines.

The hardest resources to farm here would be the Ammonia Glands and Flax. There’s a good number of those red mushroom creatures in Umbral Hollow, which seems likethe perfect spot for farming Ammonia Glandsif you set up a Flame Altar near it.
For Flax, you want toset up a Flax farmbecause you’ll literally need thousands of units, especially if you want to try other gear sets or you have other friends on your server who also need an upgraded gear set.
Setting Up A Flax Farm
Craft at least two Seedbeds from the Farmer. This will bolster the speed of your Flax Seedlings even more. Grab a few Flax from Revelwood andsome water from a nearby well.Continuously place Flax and Water on both Seedbeds to speed up the production. You don’t have to craft wells until you are crafting Flax in the hundreds. If you are planting other resources, you might as well get multiple water wells.
If you only have one Seedbed, you’ll be waiting a long time to get your Flax farm up and running. It also takes multiple days for your planted Flax Seedlings to blossom into Flax, which is one of the main reasons why you need more than one Seedbed dedicated to just crafted Flax Seedlings.
Once you have the farm running, all the other resources are easy to get. Since it is going to take some time to multiply your Flax, prioritize the farm and grab the other resources once you have planted your Flax Seedlings.
How To Craft Padding
Padding requires the following:
Start turning your Animal Fur and Salt into Dried Fur, Flax into Linen, and Dried Fur, Salt, and Ammonia Gland into Leather. Once you have the materials, go to the Hunter and look for the Padding craft. You’ll get Padding instantly, and it would be like purchasing it straight from the Hunter instead of actually crafting the item.
Where Is Padding Used For?
The following sets require Padding:
Some of these sets require multiple Padding and some even need some extra Fabric, a material already used to get Padding.
Apart from sets, you also use Padding to craft decorations such as Iron Bench, Sand Throne, and Palm Wood Chair.
