Cloud claims he’ll do just about anything for 2,000 gil, but there are only so many ways to make cash inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It’s not that you’ll be eating proverbial scraps the whole way through the game, but - especially in the early hours - money can be a bit scarce.
There are, however, some things you can do to plump up your wallet long before the game evens out its economy. We’ll list them off right here to help you stay ahead of the curve. Armed with this knowledge, Cloud will be making far morethan 2,000 gil.
Sell What You No Longer Need
There’s a lot ofstuffin Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, andmost of it can be sold for gilwithout losing anything truly helpful. This is becausemost items have something of a practical use expiration date.
Potionswill be replaced byHi-Potions,Metal BracersbyBeastman Armbands, and so forth. Once you have routine access to these nexttiers of item categories, you cansell the prior tierfor quick cash. This is equally true of the duplicateMateria you doubt you’ll need.
Occasionally, selling a piece of armor or an accessory meansnot having one to enhance via the Item Transmuter once the requisite Upgrade Chip is obtained.Don’t fret - you may make another!
Transmute Extra Wares
The world of Rebirth has an abundance of crafting materials to harvest. So many, in fact, thatyou will often have the maximum (99) number of many common crafting materials.
If you hang on to them, you’ll be doing your wallet a disservice. Instead,once you have a bunch of the right ingredients, farm out more recipesto your heart’s content. You won’t gain more Craftsmanship EXP - but youwill gain plenty of gil for selling your excess inventory.
Locate Caches
As you explore the game’s sixopen regions- the Grasslands, Junon, and so on -you will find several spots on the map called caches.Here, you’ll be informed as to thenumber of treasure chests hidden in the vicinity.
These won’t contribute to your World Intel completion rate, but they’re still worth seeking out! Many types of treasure can be found,often including large amounts of gil.
Subsequent areas will have more cash for your coffers than their predecessors, but even in the Grasslands, you’re talking a few grand.
Scent And Scour
Buried treasure isn’t just for Upgrade Chips!Wherever you see a bunch of bunnies gathered,you should hop on your trusty chocobo steed andpress up on the directional button to sniff the air. This will lead you to a trail toward something hidden underground.
While a variety of things can be found, including crafting materials and radPLAY ARTS figurines, you’ll alsodig up thousands of gil sometimes. Every bit counts, and this is far more than a bit!
