The psychological horror gameShinkansen 0takes you on a supernatural Japanese bullet train. You’re stuck in a looping journey filled with strange anomalies that will give you goosebumps. Spotting these anomalies is your only ticket out, but it’s no easy feat.
Shinkansen 0 offers two different endings. The first one is straightforward: simply getting off the train. However, the second ending plunges you into another scary scenario. It also provides some context about the boy and his sister you encounter at the beginning of the game, so it might be worth it to see both endings. Keep on reading to discover how to unlock them.
How To Unlock The First Ending
To unlock the first ending, you’ll first need tocomplete both the normal car and green car stages. After finishing the green car stage,activate the brakeby pressing the button. Then, exit the conductor’s room and leave the train, marking the completion of ending one.
How To Unlock The Second Ending
Unlocking the second ending is a little more complicated than the first. After hitting the brake at the end of the green car,instead of immediately getting off, you’ll need tobacktrack all the way to the normal car.
There, you’ll find a female passenger who was previously asleep with a favor to ask of you. She wants your help instopping the train and finding her missing brother, Naoki, the little boy who explains the game’s rules at the beginning.
When she requests you to return to the green car,two dialogue optionswill appear.You must select “No, I’ll go to the normal side”instead of “Sure” to proceed with the second ending. If you choose “Sure,” you’ll see the first ending.
Now, retrace your steps through the normal car. As you pass throughthe fourth car, the background music will turn eerie, anda ghost will start chasing you. Hold down the shift key to run.Some anomalies will hinder your way.Keep running without looking back, or the ghost will catch you.
If the ghost catches you, you’ll be returned to where you met the sister.
Upon reaching the conductor’s room in the normal car and hitting the brake, the train will gradually stop. Exit the conductor’s room, andyou’ll find Naoki standing on the platform, with his sister joining him after a few moments. For some reason, they’re off the train, but you’re still on it. They tell you that it is not your time yet.
You wake up to the attendant and the old passenger, who turns out to be a doctor, telling you that you collapsed on the floor due to a light form of “deep vein thrombosis” or “economy class syndrome.”
They further explain that the train stopped due to a personal injury that happened a few minutes ago. You’ll also hear a conductor on the phone mentioningthe involvement of a young woman and a boy in the accident.
The second ending concludes with a scene showing the siblings walking together on a heavenly railroad track.
