Dragon’s Dogma 2culminates with a singular moment that will alter how the game’s final moments play out. All of your long hours of questing, fighting, and farming materials are distilled down into the choice presented to you by the true dragon at the climax of Dragon’s Dogma 2.
The true dragon opened the game, and will now end the story with you as you decide whether you want to fight the dragon and complete the cycle, walk away and enjoy your kingdom, or unlock the true final ending. The first two choices are fairly straightforward, but you’ll need to follow along closely to get Dragon’s Dogma 2’s true ending.

How Do You Get To The Choice?
First, you’ll need to arrive at the climatic moment where you are presented with a choice of ending by the dragon.
To do this, you mustfollow The Guardian Gigantus quest to its conclusionwhere you meet Phaesus and fight against the false Arisen.

Once the cutscene with Phaesus concludes, the Legacy quest will begin, thrusting you into the final dialogue with the true dragon.
From here, you can choose how you wantthe Dragon’s Dogma 2 endingto play out by directly reacting to the dragon’s ultimatum:fightorflee.

How To Get The “Fight The Dragon” Ending
During your conversation with the dragon, the NPC you have the highest affinity with(a.k.a. the best relationship) will be clutched in the dragon’s claws.
If you want tosave this NPC’s life and fight the dragonyourself, you mustrun up to the dragon and attack it onceto trigger the “fight the dragon” ending.
From here, you willride on the dragon’s backto the arena where you will have the final boss fight.
Riding on the dragon’s back is a pivotal moment, asyou can choose to pivot to Dragon’s Dogma 2’s true endingfrom hereif you know how to activate it. Information on how to do that is below.
Prepare for a climactic and challenging fight against one of the most difficult, and easily the largest boss in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Your party should be leveled up andinclude a Mage to heal you allduring the grueling encounter.
This dragon is much more difficult thanthe drakes you fight during the gamebut has similar attacking and weakness principles.
How To Get The “Walk Away” Ending
If you don’t mind abandoning the NPC closest to you and would rather avoid fighting the final boss, then you can choose towalk away from the dragon, leaving that NPC’s life to the dragon instead.
You must turn away from the dragon and begin to walk away, at which point the dragon will stop you and ask you toconfirmif you’re sure you want to flee.
Once youconfirm your cowardice and tell the dragon it’s time to head outto your lavish kingdom and enjoy life, the credits will play and show you enjoying the fruits of your labor.
This ending is the most anticlimactic, but easily thequickest, given that it skips any fighting or quests at the end.
It may be the most interesting option if you’re optimizing a speedrun for Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How To Get The True Ending
Dragon’s Dogma 2’s true ending is a bit complex if you haven’t paid attention to the lore during your journey.
First, choose to fight the dragonduring your initial conversation, at which point you’ll transition to riding on the dragon’s back.
Do not let the ride continue to its destination; if youreach the battle, you’ve gone too far.
While riding on the Dragon’s back, crawl your way to the dragon’schest, where you’ll finda glowing area – its heart.
View your items andchoose to “Use” theEmpowered Godsbane Bladewhile clutching the dragon’s chest.
Confirm your choice to “Use on self"when you draw the blade, then watch as a series of cutscenes explains the magnitude of your choice.
Triggering the true endingdoesn’t end the game immediately but instead willtransport you to the Unmoored World, where you will be faced with the prospect of deciding how toprepare for the coming storm.
Depending on if you choose to complete every quest available, there is asignificant amount of questing and travelingstill to do, so prepare to endure some harsh challenges.
To summarize how you trigger the final ending andget to the Unmoored World:
Whichever ending you choose, enjoy the final moments of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Arisen.
