As you complete different missions inThe Outlast Trials, you’ll receive a rating. These ratings will appear next to the missions when you access the Terminal, letting you keep track of where you earned an A+ rating.

However, the game doesn’t state how you earn A+ ratings. For example, does time matter when you go for an A+ rating? How about getting hit, and the different evaluation points?

What Is An A+ Rating, And What Does It Get You?

An A+ rating refers to the letter grade you receive whenever you complete a trial.A+ is the highest you can get, and F is the lowest that you earn when you fail a mission.

Whenever you earn an A+ rating, you gain extra Experience Points, which varies based on the mission type. Getting an A+ rating in a trial will net you double the bonus Experience compared to an MK-Challenge, since they tend to be shorter.

Theevaluation points will only appear as they apply to you.

As a general rule, if you want to get an A+ rank, aim to havetwo rankings at most in the redand at least ten in the black, and you’ll likely get it. However, if you trigger something multiple times, like a sound trap, you could lower your ranking further.

Time doesn’t really impact your score, so focus on what you do rather than how long it takes.

Team A+ Versus Solo A+

When you play with others, you’ll get a solo rating and a team rating. The team rating is determined by the average score your teammates earned individually. For instance, if you have a few Bs, an A-, and an A+, you’ll likely get a B+ or A-.

While team ratings are nice to see how you and others perform together, they aren’t as important as Solo ratings. Solo ratings will get you the guaranteed bonus Experience Points.

You do need tocontribute and help your teammates to get an A+ rating. If you stand around doing nothing, you likely won’t get what you want.

Tips To Earn An A+

Now that youunderstand how an A+ rating is determined, you can apply some tips to earn them more often.

Understand The Random Factors

You may think you can memorize each level to get an A+ rating, but each one has randomized elements Luckily, the tasks you complete and the layout stay the same, letting you become familiar with those elements.

Play the mission a few timesto learn what changes, so you may play accordingly.

Prioritize Stealth Over Speed

You shouldprioritize a safe playstylewhere you’re able to minimize taking damage and remain safe over speeding through the trial.

Stick to the shadows and avoid runningunless an enemy is chasing you. If an enemy does find you, run a considerable distance before trying to hide in the dark or use a hiding spot.

You don’t need to worry about this as much if you’re playing with a group, sinceyou can split the workload or have someone distract the enemies, but it’s crucial for Solo play.

Pick A Loadout To Cover Your Weaknesses

You’ll find yourselffalling short in different ways as you look through the evaluation points. Some people may hide too often, others may trigger too many sound traps, and some could simply struggle to manage their Stamina.

Pay attention to these weaknesses andpick upgrades for your loadout that will cover them. For instance, stepping on glass counts as triggering a sound trap, so get the Slippers Amp at Player Level Ten to make this a non-issue.

Remember you’llunlock more Amps as you increase your Player Leveland can equip a tool, skill, and medicine.
