Nightingaleis a survival crafting game where you traverse the Fae Realms as a Realmwalker. You can journey through the wilderness alone, with a party of IRL friends, or with recruitable companions living in the different realms. In order to survive, however, you’ll need to craft equipment and weapons that will help in fending off the different dangers lurking in the Fae Realms.
To craft your gear, you’ll need different crafting stations. In order to build your different crafting stations, you’ll first need to unlock the schematics for them, and these can be purchased from Essence Traders found in the different realms. One of these crafting stations is the Refined Workbench.

How To Get Refined Workbench
The Refined Workbench is atier two crafting station, and anupgraded version of the Simple Workbench. Getting this workbench will allow you toadd more augmentationsandcraft more recipes.
In order to craft the Refined Workbench, you need to find theschematicsfor it first. The only way to get the schematics for the Refined Workbench is topurchase it from an Essence Trader in a Provisioner Realm.
To enter a Provisioner Realm, you’ll first need to unlock theProvisioner Realm Card. To unlock this, visit theProvisioner Site of Power, then defeat the boss guarding the mechanism on the final floor of the tower. You’ll get the schematic for the realm card afterreleasing the Hope Echostored there.
Once you get the schematics for the Refined Workbench, you’ll need tobuild it on your base. The materials you need for this crafting station arefour pieces of lumber, one mechanical gear, and one carved wood.
When picking a spot for your Refined Workbench, ensure to build it in a spot that gives itthe most positive traits.
Condition
Grit
This is anegative traitthat applies when your structure isnot built on a stable surface. Make sure tolay down the foundation firstbefore putting your structure down.
Warm
This is apositive traitwhen the location of your structure iswarm. Theworking conditions, temperature-wise, must be comfortable.
Well Lit
This is apositive traitwhen there is alight sourceclose to the workbench.
Sheltered
This is apositive traitthat applies when a structure isprotected from the elements. To do this, keep itindoors or tucked into a tent.
Exposed
This is anegative traitwhen a structure isnot protectedand can be affected by rain or other weather conditions.
When picking a spot for your Refined Workbench, you need to ensure that you haveenough space around it to place augmentations.
What Can You Build On A Refined Workbench
Building a Refined Workbench will enable you toraise your gear score to 50. This will allow you to progress to theHerbarium Realm, as the Herbarium Site of Powerrequires a gear score of 50 before you can enter.
The gear that you can build on a Refined Workbench will berefined tools, weapons, and clothing. Not only that, once you get this crafting station, you’ll be able tocraft firearmsonce you find the schematics for them.

There are a lot more recipes that can be unlocked by the Refined Workbench, but in order to unlock them, you’ll need tobuild augmentations nearby.
Take note that you won’t be able to build certain gear on your Refined Workbench without first unlocking them bypurchasing the schematics from an Essence Traderor bydiscovering it while exploringthe Fae Realms.
How To Use Augmentations On A Refined Workbench
Augmentations are structures that you can build next to workbenches in order tounlock new crafting recipes.
Take note that augmentations need to be in theline of sightof a crafting station in order for its benefits to be applied.
A Refined Workbench hasseven slots for augmentations, after which any additional augmentations built will no longer have an effect on the workbench.
Well Litis listed as an augmentation, but itwon’t take up an augmentation slot.
There are21 valid augmentationsfor a Refined Workbench:
