Nobody’s perfect – sometimes, either we or our friends mess up – andPersona 3 Reloadreminds us of this when our social links occasionally reverse because of our mistakes. If you’re hanging out with someone and choose the wrong dialogue option in conversation, you stand to risk angering them enough to reverse their social link.

Should this happen, don’t worry, since it only takes a handful of apologies after your mistake (or the careful use of the new rewind feature) to undo what undid the relationship. But be quick – your social link won’t hang out with you again until you do.

It’s unrealistic to expect that your friends might never be annoyed with something you’ve said, especially if that something is insulting or too forward for their liking, and in P3R,yoursocial linkscan reverse, depending on theconversation choicesyou make when they’re talking to you.

And in the vein ofchanges made in the remake, social links do not break if you don’t enough spend time with them, nor can you pray for forgiveness at Naganaki Shrine.

Should this happen, thecharacter continues to appear in their normal spotaccording to their usual schedule, but when you see them, they’ll have ared, upside down tarot card over their headinstead of the usual vibrant blue. It stands apart from the crowd pretty well, so your odds of missing it are slim.

  • Nozomi’s social link reverted to normal for us during the same scene, but we’ll update if different dialogue options change his mind about forgiving us so quickly.

Additionally, we’ll update this list if we find more social links in Persona 3 Reload that can reverse.

Talk To The Character To Smooth Things Over

As mentioned above, the character continues to hang out where you typically find them on the days they’re regularly available, but the difference is, theywon’t hang out with you until you’ve undone the reversal.

For some characters, this may take a couple tries, and you may only approach them about the reversal once per day, so it pays to be diligent in your apologies if you intend to undo the damage done.

Speaking to your reversed social link to mend the relationshipdoes not consume the time slotduring which you’re speaking to them, so be sure to find them to make amends as soon as possible.

Use The Rewind Function

Though it’s technically not aformalway to undo a mistake made during a social link that caused it to reverse, you can alwaysrewind to just before the scene you messed upand try it over again.

Anything you do past this point will be erased and therefore need to be redone, so if you’re going back with rewind, do it sooner than later.

By rewinding to just before you’ve made the fatal flub, you’ll be able totrigger the social link scene again, but this time, trychoosing a different optionin response when you get to the prompt that made the character angry in the first place. Rewinds can overwrite these mistakes, so make use of the new feature in P3R if needed!
