Reaching the credits inGranblue Fantasy: Relinkis where the game’s core gameplay loop really starts to shine through. After adventuring through the Zegagrande Skydom, saving Lyria, and stopping the Church of Avia, Gran’s main quest is complete. However, some things are left unaccounted for, like the fate of Rolan, Folca’s Mr. Fix It.
Chapter 0 is essentially the epilogue of the game’s main story, and introduces you to many of the mechanics you’ll be using in high-difficulty quests from now on. Completing Chapter 0 can get a bit confusing and time-consuming, but don’t worry. Below, we’ll take a look at everything you need to do to finish Chapter 0 and reach the true ending of the game.
Step 1 - New Mr. Fix It
Chapter 0 begins rightafter the credits rollafter defeating Bahamut Versa and saving Id. To save Rolan, the crew search for any clues he may have left behind. They start by taking up Rolan’s mantle as Mr. Fix It of Folca, attempting to fill his shoes by helping out around town.
After finding Id at the church, return to theQuest Counterand talk to the Caring Man to receive your first quest. This will immediately send you toSkywrym Valley, where you mustplay as Idfor the quest.
Follow along during this quest and search for the stolen goods. After fighting through groups of enemies and recovering the stolen goods, eventually, aGoblin Eaterwill appear. This enemy is similar toGriffinsyou’ve fought before. Defeat this boss, and you’ll return to Folca with Rolan’s Notes 2.
Completing this quest will also upgrade your Skyfarer Grade from Novice Skyfarer toVeteran Skyfarer, unlockingHard difficulty questsat the Quest Counter.
Step 2 - Hard Quests
Now that you’re a Veteran Skyfarer, there’s some work to be done before you can rescue Rolan. To get the next journal entry, you’ll need tocomplete all the Hard Difficulty questsat the Quest Counter with thered crossed swords iconnext to them. If you’ve done any optional quests at the Quest Counter during the story, you’ll be familiar with how this works.
You can complete all of these questsonline with other playersand they will still count toward reaching the Rank Up quest.
Completing all these quests will unlock aRank Up quest, which appears at the top of the quest menu at the Quest Counter. Complete this quest against theAncient Dragonto find Rolan’s Notes 4, and then proceed to the next difficulty level.
Step 3 - Very Hard Quests
This step is very similar to the previous one; simplycomplete all the marked quests at the Quest Counter, this time in the Very Hard difficulty category. Doing this will once again make the Rank Up Quest available. Complete the Rank Up quest, and the next story mission will unlock.
Step 4 - Following In Rolan’s Footsteps
After unlocking Very Hard quest difficulty, you will be approached by the Caring Man and a Seedhollow Soldier, who have a new quest for Id and the crew. They will ask you to investigate strange occurrences in thePillar of Vayoi.
Head to the docks and depart for the Pillar of Voyoi. Follow along this quest until you reach the boss,Shadow Id. Defeat him and return to Folca to complete this step and unlockExtreme difficulty quests.
Step 5 - Extreme Quests
Once again, you’ll need to complete the quests marked withred crossed swordsat the Quest Counter. However, Extreme difficulty is where things start to ramp up. At this stage, you may need to grind out a fewweapon upgrades,Mastery Points, andlevelsfor your characters to continue smoothly.
We recommendfocusing on one team of four charactersto upgrade so that you don’t spread your resources too thin.
After completing all the marked quests, you should have found all of Rolan’s Notes. This will trigger the start of the final mission in Chapter 0.
Step 6 - Destructive Rematch
The final step of Chapter 0 begins when Id calls the crew to the church in Folca. After gathering all of Rolan’s Notes, you are finally ready to find out what happened to him. Head to the docks to head to theForgotten Skies. On the Grandcypher, speak to Id to go save Rolan.
After the cutscenes, you’ll have tofight Bahamut Versa Omegaas Proto Bahamut, similar to the fight in the Final Chapter.
Beat Bahamut Versa Omega, then watch all the cutscenes that follow, and Chapter 0 will be complete. This will also upgrade you to theZegagrande Legend Skyfarer Grade, allowing you to take onManiac and Proud difficulty quests.
