After searching for Jeremy inThe Hateful Moundmemory, you acquire a Palette Knife and Sitting Room Key. The Palette Knife helps to remove the wedge under a door within the Small Parlor. With that door un-wedged, you can access the Drawing Room to find the telescope in question.
InAlone In The Dark, finding the missing piece of a puzzle is easier said than done. You will be required to unlock different things and progress through the game in order to acquire certain items. This guide will detail how to find the lens that the telescope in the Drawing Room needs and how to solve the subsequent puzzles that follow.
How To Find The Barlow Lens
You can’t find the lens for the telescope until after you have completed a second memory chapter of Jeremy’s.
The next chapter in the game involvesvisiting a memory called the Lafayette Cemetery. You will gain the ability to solve the telescope puzzle after completing the Lafayette Cemetery.
Completion of Lafayette Cemetery will automatically grant you aLuggage Key.
This key is neededto unlock thetrunk in Jeremy’s room, which is the first room on the second floor, above the Gallery.
Inside the trunk lies theBarlow Lens, the lens required to attach to the telescope in the Drawing Room. Once youapply the Barlow Lens item onto the telescope, a puzzle will ensue.
How To Solve The Telescope Puzzle
Your goal with this puzzle is tocreate a clear image of a constellation. You want the stars closer to the middle and bottom of the screen to turn white. They turn white when you correct the image byincreasing the focusandrotating the lensso that the dots overlap each other.
Once you have white stars forming a constellation, a large white star will appear on the right side of the screen. That’s how you know you’re close to finishing the puzzle. Keepincreasing focus to increase the brightnessof the stars. This will complete the puzzle.
The completed puzzle constellation can be seen in the video above. This will create a constellation and transform the room around you. The wall opposite the telescope will have yet another puzzle to solve.
How To Solve The Star Puzzle
To solve this next puzzle, you mustcorrect the image by shifting each square piece. Look at the pieces that have curved lines on them. They create a spherical circle, sostart the puzzle by connecting the curves and creating a circle.
It will be easier to understand where the rest of the pieces go, once you have completed the circle in the image. The completed puzzle can be seen in the image above.
Glowing numbers will appear on the board after completing the puzzle. These numbers are used with your Talisman in order to travel to another memory. You must firsthead to the Dining Roomto use the Talisman and continue the story.
The Dining Room is located behind the door near the cellar basement stairs that lead to the Boiler.
