How To Find A Gnome
The natural environment for Gnomes is theLiving Tree.When you travel east or west on the surface, you’ll definitelycome across massive trees.This area constitutes the Living Tree environment.

Another helpful tip is that if you’re searching for Gnomes and happen to be near Sunflowers, it’s advisable toremove themfor the time being. Sunflowersreduce the spawn rate of monsters, which won’t be beneficial to you at this stage.

How To Turn The Gnome Into Stone
Don’t forget that when you turn a Gnome into stone, you’ll alsounlock the “Heliophobia"achievement.
After encountering a Gnome, you’ll need tolure it out into the sunlightto capture it. This is not an easy task. Firstly, it’s more advantageous toencounter the Gnome at night.This way, after capturing the Gnome, all you need to do is wait.
If you’re far from the Gnome, it will remain stationary. Approach it first anddraw its aggro.Once it starts chasing you, lead it towards the surface.
Although Gnomes are weak,they can jump up to six tiles, so you can create an upward escape with wooden platforms.
You can capture the Gnome in two different styles. Firstly, you canlead it to follow youand thensurround it with blockswhen you surface, trapping it. Then, all you need to do is wait for the sunlight to turn the Gnome into stone.
Another capturing alternative is toenclose the Gnome with blocks where it stands.If you’re not too far from the surface,start destroying the background wall with a hammerfrom the surface until you reach the location of the Gnome. This way, the sunlight will turn the Gnome into stone.
To turn the Gnome into stone,it needs to be daytimeandnot in front of any wall.When enclosing the Gnome, try not to harm it while destroying the background wall with the Hammer. Gnomes are very fragile, so it’spossible to accidentally kill themwhile destroying the walls with the hammer.

To address this, you canplace the Garden Gnome alongside another item that provides a buff.For example, placing it next to a Sunflower allows you to easily track the luck buff through the Sunflower’s buff icon.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that theluckbuffprovided by multiple Garden Gnomesdoes not stack.Therefore, there is no benefit to having them in the same location.
Luck affects certain aspects of the game, such as the items sold by the Traveling Merchant, drop rates of enemies, and the spawning of rare enemies and critters. Therefore, it’s important to place the Garden Gnomein a location where it will be useful for you.
