Things spice up inAlone In The Darkwhen you gain access to the hallway to the right of the Astronomical Clock. Doing so introduces you formally to the child of the house, Grace. In the room you find her in, there is a puzzle involving medicine bottles.

There is a padlock in the room and bottles of medicine that you may interact with. You must find the remaining medicine bottles and place them with the others in order to initiate this puzzle. This guide will explain where to find all the medicine bottles, what order to put them in, and how to unlock the nearby padlock.

Where To Find The Medicine Bottles

The first medicine bottle,Margrave Liniment, is foundon the desk in the center of the roomthat the puzzle is in. This can be placed with the others immediately.

The last medicine bottle requires a bit of running around to retrieve it. First, you must find theMedicine Box Keylocated on the lower level of theMezzanine,called theGrand Parlor.

The Mezzanine and Grand Parlor areunlocked when you gain access to the Palette Knife. The knife allows you toremove the wedge beneath the door upstairs in the Servant’s Quarters.

The Servant’s Quarters is the small area with green carpeting that connects to the garden balcony (Piazza).

The Grand Parlor is accessed by using the double doors behind the red couch in the Mezzanine.

The Medicine Box key allows you tounlock the little boxwithinLottie’s Room.

Lottie’s Room is on the first floor, where the green carpeted hallway is.

Thislittle box contains the last medicine bottle, calledDr. Jenkin’s Lozenges.

How To Solve The Medicine Bottle Puzzle

Once all of the medicine bottles are in place, you’re able to start shifting them around. Your goal with this puzzle is tocreate a snake with the rotting dirton each bottle. The two, shorter curved pieces go on either end. The completed puzzle is shown in the image above.

With the medicine bottles in the right order, you can notice numbers on some of them. The point of this puzzle is to place these numbers in the correct order. The first two bottles should show the numberstwo and five. The last bottle should showseven.

How To Solve The Zodiac Padlock In Cassandra’s Room

With these numbers in mind, open your Journal andlook back to the Clue Perosi’s Journal. Once again, you must use the given numbers to associate them with Zodiac signs. Then, you would apply those corresponding signs to the padlock in the room.

Two, five, and seven correspond with the Zodiac signsPisces, Gemini, and Leo.

The Pisces sign looks like two brackets facing the opposite way with a line through them. The Gemini sign looks like two lines with brackets on the top and bottom (or the Roman numeral for two). The Leo sign looks like a stethoscope.

Opening the locked drawer will grant you the itemBroken Plate. This is used to complete the broken puzzle in theBoiler Room.
