InPersona 3 Reload, the art of getting rich quickly is reserved exclusively forPresident Tanaka. No matter how many times he tutors you, you won’t have a wallet flush with yen until around the game’s halfway mark, if not later. That doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to alleviate your student poverty at least somewhat.

We’ve got your back. In this guide, we’ll show you six ways to avoid feeling the squeeze every time Kurosawa’s sales send you straight to the police station, or the Velvet Room’s summoning takes too heavy a toll on you. (Seriously, what the heck, Igor?)

Approaching the Fortune Teller in Club Escapade in Persona 3 Reload

1Visit The Fortune Teller

Requirement:

Visiting the Fortune Teller atClub Escapadeshould be made a routine part of your preparations for anytrip to Tartarusonce you’ve gained access to her services. There arequite a few waysto elevate your Courage Social Stat; you need only apply yourself a few times for such a low-level upgrade!

The Fortune Teller offers numerous services - in fact, those services expand as the game goes on. But the one we want for the purposes of money-making is available from the start:Rarity Fortune, which increases the likelihood that you will encounterrare enemiesas you ascend Tartarus. These foes areworth a great deal of yen, and it’ll add up fast.

2Choose The Coin During Shuffle Time

More often than not, you’ll end your battles in Tartarus withShuffle Time. And, more often than not,one of the cards you can choose is the Coin, which adds yen to your rewards for victory. Most fights in Persona 3 Reload do not give you money without the Coin card, which is a key reason accumulating wealth can be so taxing.

We wouldn’t recommendalwayspicking the Coin card. After all, you’ll want new Personas, powerful Skill Cards, Bonus EXP… basically everything else. Butif your goal is specifically to get money, make a habit of picking the Coin card during Shuffle Time until you’ve gotten a good 60,000 yen or more per trip.

3Seek Employment

There are multipleemployment opportunitiesin Persona 3 Reload, and they don’t just offer cash - even if that is, indeed, the subject of this article.Chagall Cafe, Screen Shot Movie Theater, andBe Blue V(which opens on7/22) all operate on separate schedules, or close enough at any rate, that you can stock up at every spot.

Persona games, with their limited number of days prior to the end of the story, do tend to compel us to do things which gain us multiple rewards at a time. It just so happens thatyou’ll raise your Social Statsin addition to earning a wage at each of these locations, so they’re worth the effort.

4Cash In With Kurosawa

Very early into your tenure as a member of SEES, Akihiko will introduce you toOfficer Kurosawa, who is something of an inside man for the squad. He doesn’t know what you all are doing, but he does know it’s altruistic fare that’s saving people suffering from Apathy Syndrome. He’llsell you equipment, but he’llalso purchase items from you.

All thoseTartarus items you get when you smash objectsin there? They’re meant to be sold to Kurosawa, and as youreach higher blocks, the goods you’ll acquire will be worth more cash. For example, during a traipse through Yabbashah, we snagged over70,000 yenwith relative ease.

5Retrieving Old Documents

The lovelyElizabethwill give you manyVelvet Room requeststhroughout the course of your adventure, and some of the earliest, with the best prizes, are called’Retrieve the Old Document'. These will pay you increasingly lofty sumsjust for reaching border floors in Tartarus.

Border floors are your boundaries for further ascension at each given plot point. They serve as stopgaps to prevent you from thinking you can climb the entirety of the game’s main dungeon, which would, you know, spoil the plot.Just snag the Old Documents that are in treasure chests on border floorsand turn them in to Elizabeth.

Visiting the Naganaki Shrine by day in Persona 3 Reload

6The Naganaki Gamble

Requirement:None

One of the first things you’re able to do in Persona 3 Reload is tovisit Naganaki Shrine. Here, you will unlockMaiko’s Social Link, and eventually, Akinari’s. But there are other things that you can do here, includingspending 100 yen to draw a fortune. Sure, you’respendingmoney here, but 100 yen is, like, what, 67 cents in USD?

The point is,you have a chance of acquiring between 500 and 10,000(!!) yenevery time you do so. In our experience, this has netted usmuch more than we’ve paid for the activity. The major downside?Drawing fortunes takes up time, but there is still a bonus involved:you elevate your affinity points with a Social Link of your choosingas part of the process.
