Grannie’s Cookbook is amod by creatorLittlbowbubthat adds tons of new custom foods for your Sims to cook in the game.Once you’ve downloaded it and placed the cookbook on your lot, your Sim can use it to cook new dishes.
This mod is completely base game-friendly. You don’t need any expansions to use it.
How To Install Grannie’s Cookbook
Once you’ve headed to the mod page on CurseForge, all you need to do is hitDownload. This will download the zip file with the mod inside.
Once the zip file is in the folder,on PCright-click on it and choose Extract Hereto unzip the file. OnMac computers, you can double-click on the fileto unzip it. This will unzip the contents of the file, and you’ll be left with a folder.
Open the folder, then drag the folder labeled Grannie’s Cookbook to place itinside the Sims 4 Mods folder.
The Sims 4 Mods folder can be found underDocuments > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. If you don’t have a Mods folder, you’re able to create a new one in The Sims 4 folder and title it Mods.
This will install the Grannie’s Cookbook mod in your Sims game.
How To Use Grannie’s Cookbook
Once it’s installed,you need to place Grannie’s Cookbook somewhere on your home lot. It’s recommended to put it in the kitchen for easy access, but it can go anywhere you want.
You can find the item underAppliances > Kitchen Appliances. It can be bought for45 Simoleons.
You can change the swatch to match your kitchen or room if you’d like. Each swatch still contains the same recipes, so you won’t miss out on anything by changing the look of Grannie’s Cookbook.
From there,click on the cookbook, and you can choose between two options to get cooking:Grannie’s RecipesandSnacks. You can also choose to put the book in your Sims' inventory or name the cookbook.
Simplychoose any of the recipes, and what serving size, and your Sim will begin cooking that dish.
Youcannot cookany ofthe custom meals without selecting themfrom thecookbook.
When you place it in your inventory, your Sim can bring it to other lots to cook custom meals anywhere. If you have the Seasons expansion pack, you can also give Grannie’s Cookbook as a gift to other Sims.
Types Of Food You Can Make With Grannie’s Cookbook
Your Sim is able to make several types of food with Grannie’s Cookbook. This includessnacks, drinks both hot and cold, appetizers, meals, desserts, BBQ, and breakfast.They all have custom models in-game.
For most of the meals,you just need a stove, countertop, and fridgeto prepare them properly. However, some of the meal categories and specific meals need more.
Anything in the BBQ category needs a grill to make, and some of the soups require a microwave. If you don’t have these, you’re able to’t make the dishes.
Most of the meals are available without having any Cooking skill level, or at skill level one for Cooking. However, some dishes require you to be at a higher level.
No recipes require you to be higher than Cooking skill level five. Once you’re at level five, you can make all of them.
To level up quickly in the Cooking skill, keep cooking dishes. This is thefastest way to bring your skill level up. you’re able to also read any of the skill books which can be purchased at a bookshelf, which will also increase your skill level.
Once the dishes have been made, they are like normal Sims food. you may eat them right away, place them in your Sim’s inventory, pack them into a lunch sack, or put them in the fridge to store them. You can also click and grab them to move the dishes to different spots.
