Hermit Full Moon Operation Overview
Recommended Party
When you’reselecting your partyfor the battle against Arcana Hermit in P3R, the most critical thing to keep in mind is that the Shadow is going to be dealing Electric damage with the majority of its attacks, making it pivotal youdon’t bring anyone weak to Electricityto this fight.
This goes for both your teammate selectionandyour Persona stock - keep your own Personas' affinities in mind, too, when choosing them for battle, since you’re not immune to Electric attacks unlessyour active Personais.

This meansYukari and Aigis need to stay behind, removing both your best healers from the fight. As such, you may want tobring your own healing Personasand designate yourself as the healer if the party starts taking too much damage. Thankfully,Kencan help supplement this, in addition to bringing somebuffsto the table.
Offensively, you’ll need to dealdamage that isn’t Electric, Wind, or Light, since the Shadow is immune to these. As such, you’d do well tofocus on physical movesfor this battle, since you’ve gottwo party members with good Strength statsby this point - eternally dynamic duoAkihiko and Shinjiro.

Hermit Full Moon Battle Guide
When the operation first begins,Chidori kidnaps Junpeioutside of the Iwatodai Dorm and holds him hostage, asking him to call off the Full Moon operation, believing him to be the leader of SEES. Because of this,Junpei is unavailable for this fight. Irritated, the group heads over toPaulownia Mallto chase a signal Fuuka picks up.
Once there, she says she sensesunderground cables, and after getting a reading from thebasement at Club Escapade, you and the party you’ll choose head into the Club to check things out, where you’ll encounter theShadow that’s embedded itself into the cables for the power supply.
Initially, the fight is fairly straightforward, but before long,Hermit begins Charging itselfusing one of its moves, connecting to the club’s power source to charge itself up in preparation to deal massive damage to the team. The only way to prevent this super-charged attack from landing is toattack Hermit while it’s Chargingto stop its boost before it finishes.
If the Shadow does finish Charging, it’s best to have the party block to try to mitigate the incoming damage, asMega Spark and Tera Spark deal high amounts of Electric damage to the whole partyfollowing those multi-turn boosts.
If you have Ken in the party, he can also use Makarakarn to reflect Mega Charge and Tera Charge back at the Shadow. It doesn’t damage Hermit with having used Elec Break first, but it keeps Ken from getting hurt.
As always, keep your eyes on your Theurgy gauges, since all three teammates we suggestedwill charge pretty quicklyduring the Hermit Full Moon battle in P3R.Shinjiro’scharges quicker when he’sbelow half HP(with a move pool full of HP-based moves to keep him sufficiently low), whileKen, on the other hand, does best when he’sbelow half his max SP, which he will be pretty often by healing and boosting the team.
But with Arcana Hermit having such a vast HP pool, you’d do well touse buffs and debuffs liberallyin this battle, asHermit is a powerful Shadow with excellent Attack and Defense stats.
Theurgy is a great way to deal multiple times your usual damage output, souse your Theurgy attacks as soon as they’re charged, since there’s no second fight here - as soon as they’re charged is the best time to use them.
In general, keep the flow of laying on your heaviest attacks while Hermit is charging to stop it from using the strongest attacks it knows, too, and the battle will be over before long. For defeating Hermit, you’ll receive your EXP, as well as theHermitMajor Arcanacardto add to the pile in future Shuffle Time draws.
