While there are many heavy enemies inHelldivers 2, one of the more intimidating is the Terminid’sCharger. This large and armored insect is a veritable tank that can move at incredible speeds to trample you before using its large front legs to finish the job at close range.

The Chargers are intimidating, but you can take them out as long as you aim for the weak spots or use heavy weapons to deal large amounts of damage at once. It’s better to stay ready for an encounter though, as it’s easy to get swarmed by smaller enemies or Stalkers while you’re focused on one or multiple Chargers.

Where To Find Chargers

As one of the Terminid’s more fearsome enemies, it’s possible tofind the Chargers on the yellow sideof the Galactic War map, which is being controlled by the insect menace.

Any of the planets in these areas can spawn them on any mission,as long as youhave it set on medium difficultyor higher. The mission description below the difficulty will describe ‘Heavily armored enemies’ if it spawns the Chargers.

If you’re playing by yourself or in a small group,it may be better to choose a lower difficultythat still spawns Chargers.

When you’re planet-side, your best bet is tohead towards mission objectives like Terminid nestsor to destroy their eggs, as Chargers will already likely be there guarding them. If not, they will spawn once you start destroying the objectives.

How To Defeat Chargers

As with all the bigger enemies in Helldivers 2,they have weak points that you can useto take them down. The most obvious weak spot for the Charger isthe large orange abdomensticking out from the back of the bug.

In addition to this spot, you can alsoaim for the Charger’s small headfrom the front, noticeable by the monster’s tiny mouth. Thebest opportunity for this is when it’s chargingtowards you, but try that strategy at your own risk.

Of course, exploiting weak points is not your only available strategy in taking down the Chargers. There are a range of ordinances you can use to deal devastating damage.

This includes your teammates, aslanding a Hellpod on top of a Chargercanimmediately eliminatethe threat. This goes for the other explosives, orbitals, and eagles, withexplosive strikes being much more effectiveagainst the heavily armored enemy.

Chargers can move quickly and near teammates, so consider using ordinances on unaware Chargers before engaging.

While the Charger’s armor is hard to get past,it can be worn downwith enough damage. You’ll knowyou’ve broken through when you start to see the orange fleshthat’s underneath the thicker plates of armor on the front. This is easier with heavy weapons like rockets or the Autocannon.
