Lego Fortnite’s open-world map is vast, and filled with mountains, lakes, oceans, and caves across the various biomes. Additionally, as you explore, you add markers to help you know where key locations are. Traveling between these locations, however, can be tricky when you only have the map to go by.
To know where to go, you have to continually open the map, which not only adds to your travel time but also opens you up to attack from various creatures. To make navigation across the world of Lego Fortnite easier, you will need the Compass, a tool that gives you the passive ability of HUD navigation, much like you would see in the Battle Royale mode.
How To Unlock And Craft The Compass
To unlock the recipe for the Compass, all you have to doisput Glass in your inventoryfor the first time.Once you do,you’ll unlock recipes for the Basic Compass and the Survival Compass.
Go to your Crafting Bench, and go to the Torch tab. Among theGrappler and Gliderrecipes, you should see the recipesfor the two compasses.

How To Use The Compass
When you’ve crafted the Compass you want, you willequip it the same way you do the Glider and your Charms. Once equipped, you’ll seenavigation in the top center of your screen, the same way you do in Battle Royale.
Now, you’ll know if you’re heading north, south, east, or west, andyou can also use the compass to travel toward certain map coordinates, all without having to open your map. If you want to be able to see your Village markers, or map markers you’ve placed, that’s what the Survival Compass is for; when equipped,you’ll also see all of your markers on the HUD, making travel to other bases and locations much easier.
If the Survival Compass HUD overwhelms you, we recommend keeping the Basic Compass in your inventory andswapping it with the Survival Compasswhen you need to.
