Driving inPacific Driveis an adrenaline-pumping experience that tests your survival instincts to their limits. But when the sun sets and darkness envelopes the world, the real challenge begins. Nightfall brings a terrifying twist to the adventure, making visibility almost non-existent and transforming the familiar terrains into a maze of unseen anomalies.
The importance of headlights cannot be overstated; they are your only beacon through the pitch-black roads, guiding you away from lurking dangers and toward safety. Even when away from the car, the overwhelming darkness can be lit with a simple flare or a flashlight. This guide will teach you how to craft each of these light-emitting items!
How To Craft And Install Headlights
Headlights are an essential part of your car. They are the only way you will have anyvision while driving during nighttimeexcursions. There are several different kinds of headlights that you can unlock, craft, and affix to your vehicle.
To install any headlights on your car, hold the desired headlight in your handsand approach the front of the car.Interact with the headlight socketto install the headlight currently in your hand; repeat this for the other side as well.
Crude Headlights
Thefirstones that you can craft are theCrude Headlights. These lights are very easy to make, but they are ratherdim and have low durability- so you will have to repair and replace them after nearly every trip.
Crude Headlights can be crafted from the beginning of the game anddo not require any further researchat the fabristation.
The crafting recipe for Crude Headlights is:
Road Flaresare not crafted and must be acquired by other means. They have a chance to be found in almost any container, bag, or abandoned vehicle.
Standard Headlights And Bio Headlights
Both standard Headlights (not Crude Headlights) and Bio Headlights are able to be crafted after beingunlocked at the fabristation.
These headlights bothdrain the same amount of battery poweras the Crude Headlight, but each of them produceslight that travels furtherand isbrighterthan their previous generation; they also havemore healththe higher they are upgraded.
The Bio Headlight also differs from the Crude and Standard Headlights in that it has acool white tonerather than the original warm white color.
Other Headlights
There aretwo other setsof headlights that you can install on your vehicle. Both of these two additional setshave an added effectthat makes them unique and fit for specific tasks.
The Insulated Headlight, for example, can be mounted to your car when you know that a junction along your route is plagued with electrical affixes.
The Reinforced Headlight is anend-game-onlyitem, requiringOlympium Fragments and Corrupted Energy. These two materials are not accessible until you have reached the Deep Zone.
How To Craft Flashlights
In Pacific Drive you aren’t so lucky that you get to stay behind the wheel at times, relishing the safety of your car. No, you have to venture beyond the doors of your vehicle and into the wilderness to scavenge for supplies.
When night hits you won’t want to be caught without some kind of flashlight. Thefirstcraftable flashlight is called theRelightable Flare, which might seem like a misnomer, but it is a flashlight. It is a ratherdim flashlight, but it gets the job done.
You can turn on any of these flashlights and then drop them on the ground without turning them off to light up a specific direction while you hold another tool.
The next two flashlights won’t be craftable until you have access toUnstable Energy, which won’t be until you have reached the Mid Zone. Those two flashlights are theCrude Flashlight and the Biolantern. Each flashlight upgrade getsbrighter, emits light further, and has more durabilitythan the previous version. For flashlights, the durability determines how long it can stay powered on before it breaks.

Furthermore, the Biolanternemits a different colored lightthan the other light sources mentioned so far. This light has anultravioletlook to it that increases visibility even more during darkness.
How To Craft Flares And Flare Guns
The base version of the flare is theRoad Flare, which as mentioned above, isnot a craftable itemand instead has to be found while out on trips. These flares can be ignited and kept in the hand as atemporary flashlight, or they can bethrownto light up distant areas for scouting and pathing. Road Flares stay lit for just a little over one minute long.
Thefirstcraftable flare, theBioflare, doesn’t become available until you have reached theMid Zone. you’re able to perform the same actions with a Bioflare as you can with a flare, but it lasts nearly three times as long -staying lit for more than three minutes- and provides muchmore light.
you’re able to also craft two different flare guns, a standardFlare Gun and a Bioflare Gun. Flare Guns can be very useful if you need tolight up a very distant areaor if you need tocover a large area with light.

Just like the Biolantern, the bioluminescence of the Bioflare is anultravioletcolor.
