Finding food is one ofthe most important aspects of Nightingale, especially as you explore the biomes and develop your estate. You won’t be able to craft the fishing rod until you encounter other survivors, but we’ll guide you in the right direction.

How To Get The Fishing Rod Schematic

To get thebasic fishing rod schematic, you’ll need tofind an Essence Trader. You can look on your map to see if one is available in your realm, then make your way to them.

To acquire this crafting recipe, you’ll need to hand over30 Essence Dust, which can be acquired bycompleting tasks, hunting, or extracting it from itemsin your inventory. Once you have the Dust, make the trade andhead to your crafting bench.

How To Use The Fishing Rod

To use the fishing rod,head to a body of waterand equip the tool. You’ll see an icon appear in the lower right-hand corner–you’llcast your line with the same input you would attack with.

You’ll know there’s a fish on the line whenthe name appears above the lure. Hold the same input you cast with andangle yourself away from the fishto increase the tension.

The best way to catch a fish is to keep the tension towards the middle of the bar!

Keep moving around,maintaining a steady tensionto ensure the fish is reeled in. Once it is, you’ll stop reeling and the fish will be ready for you to collect at your feet.

If you run out of stamina or can’t maintain good tension, the fish will get away!

This is a surefire way to find food without having to go too far, especially if you set up your Estate near water, and you won’t put yourself at risk hunting.
