It’s the middle of Summer inStardew Valley, and you aren’t sure what to do. You should enter the Trout Derby, of course! This is a yearly festival that tasks you with catching as many trout as possible, with a few valuable rewards available.
This event can be hard to miss, especially since you don’t receive any mail about it, but we are here to help you succeed in this event. Trout Derby Date
The Trout Derby takes place over two days, onSummer 20 and 21.When these days approach,you will not receive any mail; instead, a notification will appear on your screen telling you that the Trout Derby has begun. This will occur at6:10 am,and the Derby goes all the way until theend of the night at 2 am.
Trout Derby Location
Looking for the Trout Derby can be difficult, but all you need to do ishead south from your farm into the Cindersap Forest.Here, you will walk south past Marnie’s Ranch until you come to the river. At the northern edge of this river, you will see several fishermen, as well as atent set up next to a sign announcing the event.
The area will not be blocked off like other festivals. Instead, you cancome and go as you please.
How To Compete In The Trout Derby
To compete in the Trout Derby, you need to catch Rainbow Trout. Thankfully,this is a river fish that appears in the nearby river whenever it’s sunny in the Summer.This means that if it’s sunny, you can catch Rainbow Trout near the other fishers.
If you catch Rainbow Trout, you have around a33 percent chance to obtain a Golden Tag,which is then used to obtain rewards from the fisherman in the green tent.
Trout Derby Rewards
Below, you can check out allpotential rewards for the Trout Derby. You will not be able to choose your reward, but if you get enough Golden Tags, you can obtain them all.
The first reward will always be the Tent Kit, which can beused to sleep anywhere outside of your farm. If you’re feeling extra dedicated, you can even camp out at the derby location.
