A Solitary Resistanceis one of the first available missions inUnicorn Overlordand will reward you with a brand-new character, and the ability to recruit a new class. It will also see you fighting against theveryobnoxious Thief class. But worry not, we have solutions for putting those obnoxious pickpockets down for good.
This guide will provide all the information you need in regard to defeating all the enemies present and finding all the valuables. We’ll also give you a full breakdown of the decision you need to make at the end of the stage.

Our unit setups are going to be pretty simple for this one, as you will encounter this quest pretty early in your Unicorn Overlord journey. One thing you will want to keep in mindwhile assembling these parties is that you want the leader to be the unit riding a horse.
You will also want tomake sure you stagger your troops so that they aren’t lined up.There are some Soldiers on this stage, and they can attack columns (units lined up front to back).

Alain’s main job in this mission is simply hustling over to Rolf and recruiting him. Beyond that, he will be used to attack Housecarls, Soldiers, and Archers.

This party will be able to fight the thieves due to Travis being able to go toe-to-toe with them and Josef being able to back him up with his, they will be fighting the southern faction of bandits.

Chloe
Chloe and Hodrick will head south at the beginning of the encounter and fight off the non-thief units. Their main job is to thin out that end of the army.
This team is only here to back up Travis' party in case they get some bad roles. If the RNG doesn’t play games with you, they will likely never engage in combat.

How To Beat The Solitary Resistance Quest
For starters,send Alain directly to Rolf’s unit and talk to him(this option will appear when you click on him, it replaces the attack command). Once you have talked to Rolf, he will join you, and you will be able to freely move him around the battlefield.
The moment the battle begins, Chloe and Travis should be heading south. Have them target the Housecarls (Chloe) and the Thieves (Travis) on the right. You should recruit Rolf before they reach them, use his assist to help them take out the first two troops.Meanwhile, Alain should head to the west.Once the first two sets of troops are finished, have Rolf join Alain on the west side of the map.Travis' party should be able to clean up the rest of these troops, if he gets a few bad roles of the RNG dice, Chloe will be able to back him up.Make sure you grab the Herb south of the fort.
Only use Rolf’s assist if it gets you the kill. Otherwise, it isn’t worth the action point.
Have Alain dip under the thieves, andhead straight for the fence south of Gammel, where he can grab the Miracle Fruit.After Alain grabs the fruit, send him after theEmpowering Droughtlocated near the Archers. Around this time, Rolf should be arriving.Once he does, use his Arrow Rain skill to take out all the enemy troops.You should have enough Valor Points to fire off three rounds of this skill, which should be enough to defeat Gammel - if not, he will be so severely injured that Rolf will beat him effortlessly.
What Should I Do With Gammel?

You will be given two options at the end of the stage. you’re able to set Gammel free, or you can hand him over to the town watch. Either way, Gammel will go free.If you hand him over to the Town Watch, you will get 10,000 Gold, but if you release him, then during your campaign in Elheim, a reformed Gammel will show up to assist you and subsequently join your army.So, you are choosing between the short-term gain of gold and the long-term gain of another character.
