New Orleans is the third big memory you jump into during Chapter Three ofAlone In The Dark. Each chapter introduces you to a new theme and unique new puzzles. New Orleans Riverside is one of the shorter memories of Jeremy, but nonetheless some of the puzzles can get a bit confusing.

The main objective is to find out more about the Dark Man by attending his latest show. You can’t do that without first figuring out where he is performing next. New Orleans Riverside gets either Edward or Emily closer to that address and closer to the Dark Man. This guide will detail how to complete all puzzles and progress through the level.

How To Start The Crane

When you first step foot in New Orleans Riverside, there will be a locked warehouse in front of you. Turn right and prepare one of the nearby throwables in your hand by holding it in your hand without letting go.

Turn left, where there is a door to a small post office. A monstrosity will barge through the door once you get close enough. You can only access half of the office from here, which contains theClue “New Orleans Dock Pier #11”.

Exit the post office and continue forward and to the left. Around this building will be one monster, someMachine Gun ammo, andmelee weapon Debris.

Return to the obstacle course of debris and boxes and continue through toreach the other side of the post office building. There will be a monster closer to the back of the office.

To enter the post office, you mustwalk around the building to find a ladderon the backside. Use this ladder to access the roof and drop down into the post office. Inside the office, you will find ammo behind you andStevedore’s Keyby the door.

When you open the door to exit the post office, one monstrosity will spawn in front of you. There is a throwable directly on the windowsill behind you as you exit the post office.

Walk through the crates and boxes,up past the stairs. The Crane Operator machine to start the crane requires the Stevedore’s Key from the post office building.

Once you start the crane, theshipping containers will no longer be blocking the entrance to the sewersdown those stairs. This will spawn three monstrosities walking up the steps as you walk away from the Crane Operator machine.

You can either kill all three using the throwables lined up beside you, or you can crouch and wait for them to disperse, so that you can sneak down the steps.

The sewers are short. Only one monstrosity will jump out at you. The sewers lead to the New Orleans Warehouse.

How To Get Out Of The Warehouse

Keep note of the amount of ammo, health drinks, and throwables that are scattered around the warehouse. You are safe from danger until you find the Cargo Manifest with the address.

After looting all ammo and health drinks you need, head upstairsand enter the office within the warehouse. Here, you will find theTommy Gun. You will also find theClue “All His Things”.This Clue is necessary for unlocking the safe in this office.

Youcannot exitthe New Orleans Warehouse until you have unlocked the safe.

How To Unlock The New Orleans Warehouse Safe

The key takeaways from the All His Things Clue are at the bottom of the note;

Because the first words are bolded in the Clue, you will want to use the amount of letters per word. Water is four, Later is five, and then Hell is four again. These numbers correspond with the Roman numerals on the lock.

Inside the safe contains the Clue Cargo Manifesto, your quest item needed to progress past this New Orleans Warehouse. Once you leave the upper level of the warehouse, monstrosities will barge through the front door downstairs.

A firey explosion will already take place at the door once the monsters come through. This helps weaken them. Though there are plentiful throwables, ammo, and health potions around the warehouse, you should be able to take them all down with your Tommy Gun.

How To Solve The Sarcophagus Puzzle

The next part of this mission requires you to figure out what numbers you need to input into your Talisman in order to transport you to a new location.

Once again, you will need theClue “Perosi’s Journal"for this puzzle. This Clue allows you to assign numbers to Zodiac signs.

Take a look at theancient plate sitting on the floorto the right of the sarcophagus. What you want to focus on is the symbol in the center of the plate, the symbol above it, and the symbol on the outer wheel that is the darkest shade (bottom right).

These symbols are the Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces symbols. In Perosi’s Journal, Pisces represents Two, Gemini represents Five, and Virgo represents Eight.

The correct order goes fromoutermost ring(of the ancient plate on the floor) toinnermost layer.

To make this puzzle simple, just look at the numbers you are changing on the right side of the screen. Ignore the motions of the actual Talisman.

If you have completed certain Lagniappes sets that reward Forbidden Knowledge, you might haveunlocked the item The Commonplace Book, which shows the solution for this puzzle on the very last page. The last page highlights three Zodiac symbols, which are the symbols you need numbers for in order to solve this puzzle.
