Every town inDragon’s Dogma 2has its unique charm – and a set of quests just waiting to be discovered and completed. The Borderwatch Outpost is no different, as it’s where you’ll encounter the Ordeals of a New Recruit quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Even a lost recruit is worth saving, and that’s exactly what needs to be done to complete Ordeals of a New Recruit. Get some decent ranged weapons and be quick; this quest is on a timer from the moment you accept it, so you can fail simply by dawdling for too long. How To Start Ordeals Of A New Recruit
Head to the Borderwatch Outpostand walk up to thesoldiersdressed in blue garb immediately to yourleftafter entering the gate.
A soldier namedPhillwillmentiona recruit,Accardo, who wassent off into the heart of a harpy flockto clear them out.
Unfortunately, he has beengone for quite some time, so they’d like you togo out searching for Accardo.
From here, there will be amarker on your mapthat you can head towards to find Accardo. The soldiers will encourage you to check up on him as soon as possible.
Remember to head toward Accardoimmediately;he will not last long against the harpy flock.
If you have a Pawn who has finished this quest, they can guide you there quickly.
Where Do You Find Accardo In Ordeals Of A New Recruit?
Headsouthwestalong the road leading into a tree-lined path in the forest and keep an eye on the horizon.
You will soon spotAccardo surrounded by a flock of harpies; he is fighting valiantly, but it’s clear he needs some help.
Step in and defeat the harpy flock before they can have their way with Accardo. Luckily, there aren’t very many foes to battle.
After some well-timed sword swings and arrows, theharpy flock should be cleared, and Accardo will be saved.
Speakto Accardo, who will thank you for stepping in to aid him when you did. He agrees to meet you back at the Borderwatch Outpost.
Remember to collect your spoilsfrom the harpies here before you head back to speak with Phill and the other soldiers.
If you took too long getting to Accardo or left him to fend for himself, you’ll have to report the tragedy to Phill and the other soldier in Borderwatch Outpost.
Rewards For Completing Ordeals Of A New Recruit
With Accardo returning safe and sound, his fellow soldiers will jubilantly thank you for your help. After they’re done touting the importance of relying on training instead of heroics, you’ll receive your reward:
Lantern Oil can be used to refuel your lanterns and extend the duration it will produce light.
For an early-game quest, theserewards should be extremely usefulin your travels, particularly as you adventure through the darkness.
The 1,000 G isbest spent on Curative suppliesif you want to go out adventuring right away, but otherwise, you’ll want to save it and amass as much as possible.
Gold is always a valuable resource throughout the game, so don’t rush to spend valuable rewards.
