Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’ssecond season has released its mid-season content update, featuring new weapons, events, and maps for players to experience. This update also came with a new set of Weekly Challenges that run until the end of this season, giving players some new Aftermarket attachments and cosmetics to earn.
This week, completing any five challenges will unlock the SOA Subverter, a powerful battle rifle that might dethrone the BAS-B as MW3’s best automatic weapon. This guide will explain how to unlock this weapon, give a brief overview of its base stats, and provide tips on how to complete every Week 5 challenge in MW3’s second season.
Week 5 Challenge Reward
Upon completing five of this week’s challenges, you will unlock theSOA Subverter.This is a full-auto battle rifle thatdirectly competes with MW3’s best automatic weapons. It fires 697 rounds per minute, deals 44 damage to the torso, and has a solid base ADS speed of 278ms. Its only major downside is its mobility stats, suffering from a rather low ADS movement scalar and poor sprint speed.
Builds for this weapon can either lean into the SOA’s superb long-range accuracy or morph it into an AR/SMG hybrid. It does have a fairly small magazine of 20 rounds, however, so a magazine extension is recommended for virtually every Gunsmith build.

Get 20 kills with the Tyrant 762 Kit equipped to the Longbow.

Get 20 kills with the JAK Maglift mod equipped to the Haymaker.
Get 15 quickscope kills with the JAK Glassless Optic equipped to a recommended weapon.

Get 50 Mercenary kills with a recommended assault rifle.
Get 5 rapid kills 15 times with a recommended assault rifle.
Get 250 critical kills with a recommended LMG.
Get 300 kills with a recommended LMG while Stamin-Up is active.
Get 250 ADS kills with a recommended SMG.
Get 500 kills with a recommended shotgun at Epic (purple) or higher rarity.
Open 50 loot caches in Warzone.
In Fortune’s Keep, get 10 Operator kills in the northern region (Gatehouse, Keep, Terraces).
In Fortune’s Keep, get 10 Operator kills in the eastern region (Konni Outpost, Lighthouse, Pier, Winery).
Complete 15 contracts in Warzone.
In Fortune’s Keep, get 10 Operator kills in the southern region (Ground Zero).
In Fortune’s Keep, get 10 Operator kills in the western region (Graveyard, Overlook, Town).
