Queen’s Blood,Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s complex and captivating card game, is effectively a game-long side quest in its own right. But occasionally, it interacts with your official list of side quests. Such is the case with A Rare Card Lost, an early request found in Kalm.

A bartender who, to his credit, at leastknowshe’s got no real skill for Queen’s Blood has gone and lost his most precious card after a stinging defeat. He’d very much like it back, and up-and-coming QB player Cloud is just the merc he needs to see it safely returned to his person.

How To Begin A Rare Card Lost

You’ll be locked out of Kalm for a little bit following Shinra’s arrival in town, but thankfully, this restriction doesn’t last for long.Anytime after acquiring the chocobo, Piko, fast travel (or hoof it) back to Kalm toexplore and partake in various side quests.

you may begin A Rare Card Lost in one of two ways: either byreading Vash’s notice on the Community Board, which will be marked on yourtown map, or by skipping this step andspeaking with him directly at the bar.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s side quests frequently pair one of your other party members alongside Cloud for fun narrative bits. In this case, the character who teams up with Cloud is Tifa.Completing thisbuilds affinity with Tifa.

Prove Your Worth

Vash has a raw deal, having lost his favorite card in a match of Queen’s Blood. A Rare Card Lost willpit you against two decently formidable QB opponents, but before you may begin in earnest, you must prove you’re up for the task by defeating Vash himself.

Vash is, frankly, quite easy to beat. Small wonder he’s in this situation. You can win against Vash with pretty much any beginner strategy, which is grand, since if you’re doing this side quest when it first becomes available, your choice of cards will be quite limited.

How To Beat Virgil

Ostensibly, the only opponent whom you must wreck in a game of Queen’s Blood will beVirgil, the guardsman seated at a table in the courtyard area outside the watchtower. Of course, we know it won’t be quite so easy, since there’s another opponent involved.

Butdon’t take Virgil lightly. In our experience, his deck was actually a bit tougher than your second opponent’s.Keep the Elphadunk in your deck, since itspower rating of fouris quite high for this stage in the game. If you haveMu, with its ally enhancement bonus, use it!

Shinra Trooper can be played in the middle columnto spawn a pair of two-tile markers, which will give your Elphadunk some immediate space to occupy. We’d advise keeping this card around for some time to come, asits use as aboard setup card meansit’sgood to have around.

One of the shops in Kalm’s market alley sellsbooster packs with additional Queen’s Blood cardsthat you can add to your arsenal against Virgil and all your foes to come. If you have any interest in Queen’s Blood, you ought to buy these, as the cards are exclusive to booster packs.

How To Beat Thorin

Upon his defeat,Virgil admits he’s already sold the card to Thorin, a card collector who dwells somewhere out in the Grasslands. If you’ve been thoroughly exploring the region, you might have already bumped intoa wooden shack with a locked doorout there.

Thorin lives here. His shack is locateddue east from Kalmin the direction facingthe Grasslands proper, rather than the wastelands to its west. If you arrive atOliver’s Farm, you’ll have gone too far;Thorin is roughly two-thirds of the way there.

Thorin isn’t exactly easy, but he presents his own Achilles' heel to you before the match.Prior to accepting the challenge, purchase the Titan and Fat Chocobo cardsfrom his shop. You’ll automatically be asked whether you’re ready to play, sobrowse his wares instead.

Titan and Fat Chocobo can slot into pretty much any early deck;Titan has a power of five and raises ranks on affected tiles by two, meaning you may build sometwo-rank tiles or even three-rank tiles.

Thebooster packs that Thorin sellsare also worth picking up, although Fat Chocobo works a bit better indecks which emphasize enhancing rather than enfeeblement,as these booster cards do. If you’re struggling, toss the chocobo out to pasture in favor of this path.

It may take you a few tries, but with the cards you’ve recently acquired, Thorin will go down in due time.Return to Vash with the card, which will prompt him to - you might have guessed it -give you the card instead. Your rewards are as follows:
